Cross hatch patterns work well…

Chrome cylinders went their own way… with sooo many challenges…

I don’t think chrome is an option anymore…. Or not a viable option anymore….

Pp thoughts only, not a mechanic…

Best regards,

You have chrome cylinders, your going to use a lot of oil. I would consider saving money to eventually get rid of the chrome, or just live with the black oil and high use until it forces the matter, cause it’s not likely to improve.

I would shorten oil change interval with chrome cylinders though as the blow by fills it with carbon faster, and carbon is abrasive.

Chrome seemed like a good idea, just didn’t pan out, Nitride is the new good idea and it might pan out, seems to be, but there is nothing “wrong” with steel barrels.

Chrome flaking off can be seen in a bore scope and oil filter inspection.
