@Diesel 10 could you elaborate on the “extended HSI” which is available since the last firmware update ? Do you use it ? If so could you make a photo from this feature together with the KI256 ? Thinking about replacing the 525 with a G5, like you did...

thanks !

No. GFC 500 won't interface to the old stuff at all. You'd be better doing 2x G5 at once and just bite the bullet. You'll recover some useful load and increase reliability.

Whole Vacuum systems goes in parts bin.  The GFC 500 require G5 HSI that's the expensive G5 install.  The AI G5 install is less labor.

Regarding adding a G5 attitude indicator and retaining the KI256 to run a KFC 150 or 200, I have heard that, since the 256 has a flight direcor, it has to remain in its current location.  Is this correct?

Are you adding a G5HSI as well?

I think this question has come up before...

But can’t think how to find it...

Technicalities of STCs and instrument installation...

Airways - Sorry I don't have the very latest firmware update (I have 5.70 and I see it is up to 6.20) so I'm not familiar with the extended HSI.  I'd be interested if anyone else has a PIREP!

I am finally getting my GFC500 installed next month along with a second G5 so I guess I'll get to see the latest version then.
