Hi,

I am new to this forum.  It's great I have learned a lot already.  Does anyone know where to get instruction in a Mooney?   I am looking to buy a 231, but would like to get some Mooney time before I look at any airplanes.

Thanks,

Andy

Andy,

You really need to find the airplane first, then the instructor. As a prospective Mooney owner/pilot, I would suggest looking for the nearest airplane club that rents Mooneys, then you'll find the club/school has designated CFI's. For example, I quickly found the Northwest Pilots http://www.nwpilots.com/organizations.html - they show Wings Aloft in seattle has that K model you are looking for http://www.wingsaloft.com/rentalfleetmooneym20k.html . Don't know how far Seattle is from Kelso but that may be your closest bet. Good luck.

Hello there

If you are interested in seeing some of our beautiful birds on full display you might check out the following event which is a combination of a Mooney Ambassador and Vintage Mooney Group.

Here is the scoop.

June 24-26, 2011 Wings to Walla Walla KALW
There are walking tours of downtown, art galleries, museums, historic Whitman Mission, farms, antiques, golf, birding, biking, and lots of other things to do in Walla Walla. BRING TIE-DOWNS. The FBO may not have enough for the number of planes that we expect. We'll have a greeter at the airport to get you oriented. The Marcus Whitman has a great buffet breakfast included with the hotel stay.  Point Person: Fred Juhos. Newly minted website: http://wingstowallawalla.com/

Fred Juhos is in charge of the event.  His email is bellevuefred@msn.com .  I believe they had many types of Mooneys in attendance last year.  Also sounds like a very fun event.

Best of luck finding the best general aviation airplane made...Mooney
