The rubber covers for these switches tear over the years. These can be purchased form online electronics suppliers such as DigiKey, Mouser and Allied Electronics.

Here are the P/N’s you will need:
Short boot for push button - Tyco P/N 1825615-1
Long boot for toggle switch - Tyco P/N 1825609-1

Each cover is between $4 and $7.
