Then you can type waypoint names on your tablet’s keyboard and send flight plans to the 530W via Bluetooth. Or you can edit flight plans graphically. Either is way better than the 530W’s “twist-twist-push” data entry. And with the FS210 you get a “free” solid state AI to backup that spinning gyro in the panel. Not to mention adding victor air way capability! 2 Quote

AI/Vacuum was overhauled about 3.5 years ago, which would have been conservatively 300 hours ago. Funny because when I took this photo I hadn't started up yet. When I did we found the suction tube was re-mounted backwards. My AI was doing a dance! Quote

M20F-1968 Posted January 28, 2018 Report Posted January 28, 2018 Just a very basic reminder, but one that catches pilots new to the 430/530/650/750 units. Always be sure that the CDI button is set for GPS or VLOC matching the type of approach you are flying. This mistake can be deadly. The other common mistake is not setting the Course direction for an ILS approach. John Breda 1 1 Quote

Ah, that's why. You're stuck with Foreflight, Apple and Garmin for everything Yep, I’m stuck with a well-integrated multi-vendor suite that works well. 1 Quote
