M20F-1968 Posted August 12, 2017 Report Posted August 12, 2017 I am looking for a Ground Power Unit (GPU) to allow running of avionics, updating software, etc... without running engine. I have a Battery Minder, but that does not supply enough power. I am thinking 25 - 50 amps of clean power. The aviation ones run about $600.00. There is an automobile company that makes an aviation product (available from Spruce) for about $250.00. Are there other sources of power supplies that can do the job, but do not have the "aviation" word attached to them that raises the price to 1/2 AMU? John Breda
Danb Posted August 12, 2017 Report Posted August 12, 2017 John that is what I have got it 12 yrs ago when I was learning the G1000 never had any issues
Godfather Posted August 12, 2017 Report Posted August 12, 2017 If I was buying one my first choice would be an Iota DLS converter the company produces 12 volt and 24 volt units.

larryb Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 I bought thishttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IU8QBCO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1Voltage is adjustable over a small but sufficient range. I have only used it a couple times but so far so good.
