mitch0537 Posted July 23, 2016 Report Posted July 23, 2016 Hi Redid my panel a bit ago. I have an airspeed indicator P/N 820308-513 marked for a J worked great when removed. Also have a KEA-130 encoding altimeter, the complete engine gauge cluster, cooling fan, turn coordinator, VSI and anything else you may think of. Let me know. Shoot me an offer and we'll see if we can come to terms. Wishing you strong tail winds and clear skies.
Alan Fox Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Is the altimeter A KEA130A , Regards Alan...
AH-1 Cobra Pilot Posted September 6, 2016 Report Posted September 6, 2016 My airspeed indicator glass is cloudy, and I would like to refurbish/replace it. Can you post/send me a picture? .
carusoam Posted September 6, 2016 Report Posted September 6, 2016 Consider an instrument shop for glass cleaning or repainting the instrument face. Best regards, -a-

N201MKTurbo Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 I've heard that some hangar elves are quite successful at cleaning instrument glass....
carusoam Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 Ah-1, fortunately, I have only sent out a few instruments in the last two decades... And that was before MS came into existence. I used the ads in trade-a-plane to find an instrument shop and rolled the dice. If the hangar elves aren't up to the task, the local instrument shop should be pretty capable of this kind of work... Sometimes you find the instrument looks really good, and a good cleaning of the glass is all it takes. Other people have taken the opportunity to convert from mph to KIAS by using the instrument shop. Some restrictions apply, like the POH has to have the proper data to allow for it...(?) Best regards, -a-
AH-1 Cobra Pilot Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 I take it the hangar elves replace gaskets, too? Or is there a gasket between the glass and the instrument body?
N201MKTurbo Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) They tell me there is paper gasket between the glass and the outer frame and a rubber gasket between the glass and main body of the instrument. They tell me if you are careful you can re-use them. If not, well it needed to go to the shop anyway. A reseal with glass cleaning ~$50. Edited September 7, 2016 by N201MKTurbo
