M20F Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Flying into both shortly IFR open to any input folks have on both places. Quote
Mooneymite Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 KBOS is a Signature with no competition. Bring your wallet and enjoy the screening and the "free" cookies. Pay attention to the Hotspots on the taxi diagram. Quote
Piloto Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 When going to Pittsburgh I always land KAGC. KAGC is a GA airport with good services. José 1 Quote
neilpilot Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 I'll also be flying to Boston IFR this Friday, and staying/parking for 1 week. But will land/park at Norwood KOWD and take commuter rail into the city. Quote
bradp Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Do what Piloto and neilpilot say. By the time you fork over several hundred dollars and get the once over at KBOS you could have landed and been in an uber, commuter rail or rental car and in the city. The folks at Flight level at OWD are good. I used to be based at OWD. My wife and I were long distance for several years. OWD AGC was my milk run. AGC has competitively priced gas and is closer to the city than PIT. PIT is a bit more expensive and further away but is GA friendly as class B airports go. OWD trivia. It's the airport at which they filmed a scene in American Hustle. Quote
Seth Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 I use AGC usually for Pittsburg unless I have meetings right near PIT (Moon Township or Imperial) then I go there. It is a GA friendly class B. Around Pittsburgh try to not cross a bridge or go through a tunnel unless you have to! Fly to the correct side of town for your business or visit! -Seth 1 Quote

M20F Posted April 20, 2016 Author Report Posted April 20, 2016 Thanks all the KOWD works for BOS with the train combo. For PIT it looks like I will just got to PIT. All my offices are at the international airports so anything other puts me further away but KOWD train sorts that out nicely. Got 14 places and about 50hrs of flying in May so will be fun. 1 Quote
