has anyone painted the black prop knob blue and the throttle black?

pictures if you have them and suggestions for paint?

I painted the mixture red by brush and it helps a lot when other pilots fly my plane with me.....

Thank you in advance

Paint doesn't usually stay very well on highly used knobs.

Replacements work. User produced parts make them OK to use.

And if you have them out of standard order like my old C, consider it an opportunity to improve functionality and form.

Vernier devices are pretty nice too...

May be expensive, but you have been going that way already.

I painted the center button for my black prop knob blue and the button on my mixture knob red - the latter had faded to near white.   I used Krylon "Fusion for Plastic" spray paint.  The center buttons are very easy to remove for painting, as opposed to the whole knob.  Be patient - clean, sand lightly, do a few coats in the back of the hangar, and let dry fully.  I think the results look good.  I swapped the positions of the two controls when my panel was redone. I replaced the throttle cable at that time, so no painting experience with that one.  Before and after pix below.

I had the chance to see this plane up close the other day and ill verify that his panel is not only one of the cleanest I have ever seen but just about as close to perfect as I have yet to see. Everything looks great!

If you paint the knobs the paint will come off eventually due to the hand rubbing. To avoid this is better to get a new knob with the color embedded in the knob material.
