I'm looking for Mooney Service and Maintenance Manual #106, dated October of 1983 (or newer). According to Mooney's website (http://www.mooney.com/en/pdf/SM_IPC_Pubs_Status.pdf) the manual was revised. According to this picture: mooney-m20-series-1968-84-maintenance-se my serial number is on there. I'm trying to balance my control surfaces and I believe this manual will help. The rudder and elevators do not balance according to the C model manual that I have but according to this thread:

They should balance in accordance with J model specs. If anyone can help, I'm looking for the tail surface balancing pages out of that manual to give to my mechanic (we have a few manuals between us, but not this one). I appreciate any help.

As an update, the elevators and the rudder have been stripped but essentially come into balance stripped. The numbers are below. Adding any paint will over balance the surfaces. Does anybody have any ideas as to what can be done? Can we add weight to the control arm?

Rudder: .564 pounds (limit is .57 pounds)

Elevators: 1.15/1.12 pounds (limit is 1.22 pounds)

I plan to email Mooney tech support as well, just curious if anybody here has any ideas. This has been an ongoing process and I appreciate everyone's help.

LW consider adding some data to your avatar area.  The plane you are talking about would help people to understand which control surfaces you have.

If they are like mine...

Best regards,

Thanks for pointing that out. I re-read the OP and thought I had included that information in there, but I didn't.

I have a 1968 C model. I'll update my info when I get home to include that.
