The only instance I can think of where the gdl88 may still may make some sense is if you already have a GTX33 installed and don't care for ES. Otherwise makes no $ense.

The 345 is not capable of displaying wx/traffic/winds/metars etc without additional hardware, the Lynx is.

Good point.  I have a 430W, so it would display on that, but good point, as a one box solution, it does not display on the screen all the information the Lynx does.
