rockydoc Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 I have found a hub, model number D-6529-41 at a prop shop. The tell me that the ECI does not apply to this hub. Can I trust that this information is correct? Thanks
orionflt Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 The AD is Based off of serial number, does it have a "b: suffix? if it does your good if it has an "a or E" then it requires eddy current inspections every 100 hrs brian

MB65E Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Ok now I'm curious... Let us know what you decide. -Matt
HRM Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I was going to say call Hartzell. They answer the phone and you get to talk to an engineer. If it is an "ECI" hub, there is a change order that lets your prop shop modify it and fill it with red-dye laced oil. That eliminates the ECI AD.

I just re-read the AD and don't see this listed. Clarence
Cody Stallings Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 That is not your hub Ser#. That is the assembly Number..... Your Ser# should start with a CH
Cody Stallings Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 CH12345B..... No Eddy current inspection. CH12345E...... Inspections every 100hrs.
MB65E Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I vote we should petition Cody to rewrite the AD! Most logical explanation since the stupid AD came out! Thanks Man! -Matt
