  1. possible open ground on audio panel or ground loop,again in audio panel,allowing r.f.to bleed over,,,radio frequency,,easy fix thats all it could be,,,,,she may have been on a handheld transceiver,very close to you to get bleedover.
  2. i am getting high cht temps on cyl 3,, 417 degrees the highest,,,this just started and i have done everything but pull the cyllinder,jpi 930 is brand new,all cyl are good.changed spark plugs,changed probes,cleaned injectors,still high,any thoughts,baffel is new also,,just stumped,dont know if the new jpi 930 is bad, just have to switch probes around,,any comments welcome
  3. you need to wash down your engine,make it totally oil free,fly for 15 minutes,come back remove cowling,and than look for the leak,you have so much oil i wouldnt know where to start,,oil leaks are easy to spot,just remember where you see oil,look in front of the leak,the air will blow it backwards,,,,but you must degrease the engine first,,,good luck
  4. airspeed switch on the back of the airspeed indicator,check wiring,should retract at 76 mph....gear will not retract until airspeed is met....

  6. i just had a complete garmin upgrade,,my gyro has only 30 hrs on it completely overhauled,to new highest mod,this unit was traded in,shop is now closed,call helocopter transport services,at martin state airport in maryland,they will gladly sell it just to recoup,some investment,its in mint cond.....ask for derrick to give you a price,hope this helps,beware there are units on ebay,i paid 2400.00 from duncan aviation to completely overhaul this unit,i know this works great,dont waste at least one thousand dollars on a unit that may fail,your life rests on that unit,,,,
  7. i have bladders and love them,,,lost a little fuel.but they dont leak..you can get fourth bladder to make up for the lost fuel,however my bladder cant go 5 hours,without a stop,,,if you want great mooney service,call freeway maintence 1 301 262 6544 they have a satellite airport away from restricted washington airspace,,,ridgely airport,it just ten minutes from summit airport...great work authorized mooney center,,,hope this helps
  8. there are 2 ic,s in this unit,they are used for calibration, and timing,so fuel lights dont flicker,when the fuel gets moving around.low fuel warning light,this unit is very easy to repair,if it is the only thing on the breaker.......anyone with electronics experiance can trouble shoot this unit,,very easy but old technolgy,i have had mine repaired and was so simple..i feel you have a blown diode on the power side of the unit.transistor would not blow a breaker,only turn on a annunciator light.call a mooney repair center they will give you the number of the company that repairs these units,they charge only 200.00,,hope this helps you....

  10. if you own a airplane,you can afford to fix it right,with a lycoming factory new engine.you would pay anything if things went seriously wrong,and someone was killed.you got very very luckey,for ten grand difference in engine price,go factory,,by the way it sounds like someone overtorqued cyllinder bolts,i have seen this many times,,,very very luckey you didnt destroy the plane,with off airport landing.

  15. ross just sand off corrision wipe down the tubes with mek. go get a can of zink cromate.treat the area,and go fly and enjoy your plane,from what i see its surface corrosion,dont piss your money away with some crazy idea how to fix this very simple problem,the tubes are filled with linseed oil,most people dont know that.there are plugs in the end of the steel tubes,this is done to keep corrosion from forming inside tubes.have fun save you cash,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I AM GOING TO INSTALL A G500 IM MY 1978 M20J, I HAVE A KFC 200 FLIGHT DIRECTOR,DOES ANY BODY KNOW IF I CAN MOVE MY KA 285 TO THE CENTER STACK JUST UNDER THE OTHER ANNUNCIATOR,,,KA 285 IS KFC ANNUNCIATOR,IF YOU HAVE ANY PICTURES OF J MODEL WITH G500,PLEASE POST THEM FOR ME THANKS.   20. today i got a good scare, the door just poped open in turbulance, i have a pristine 78j 201.the handle does not seen to go over center,like it use to. does anyone know how to rig the door so that it locks in over center position,,,thanks mooney2201

I INSTALLED TRANSDUCER ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY ENGINE, JUST UNDER CYLINDERS,THE EASYIEST WAY TO DO THIS IS ORDER THE RIGHT HOSE WITH THE PROPER FITTINGS,,,JOB IS SO EASY WHEN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT HOSE FITTINGS.ONLY THREE WIRES, SIMPLE JOB TRANSDUCER HAS A HEAT SLEEVE MAKE SURE YOU USE IT...DONT BLOW INTO FITTING,YOU WILL DAMAGE IT.....360.00 FOR A NEW ONE..

THERE ARE COMPANYS OUT THERE THAT ARE STRIPPING TANKS, WITH WIRE WHEELS ON DRILLS....THE WIRE WHEEL WILL SET UP FOR DISSIMILAR METAL CORROSION,KISS YOUR INVESTIMENT GOOD BUY///////// BE SAFE MAKE SURE THAT THEY DONT USE THIS PROCESS, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY, IT COULD BE MONEY OR YOUR LIFE,IF THE SPAR IS COMPROMISED.......

  24. meter could be off...if not calibrated.......just put it in the plane and see what temp you come up with,should be between 184 and 198 in climb out..depends what ambient temp is where your flying....if you oil gets hot the edm will warn you of over temp.......
  25. i heard garmin 430's non wass with part nimber -10 at the end were the only units that garmin is going to support....
