  1. My profile which generates no complaints when filing
  2. Couldn’t agree more. If you use ForeFlight and have a subscription that supports performance profiles, download the acclaim profile. It was built from a Type S POH, and I find the 29x2500 LOP profile dead on if I reduce speed by 5% and fuel by the same. See you have a clean wing, so maybe you don’t need any adjustments. congrats again. -dan
  3. Difference is that this has hit multiple GPS receivers with different antennas in the same plane on at least three occasions in the last few days.
  4. Yes, that is the assumption, and you are correct that it could be unrelated jamming or interference. We have reported it to the FAA/FSDO. My understanding is, though, that there has been a recent rollout of 5G service local to us. I don’t know if this is true or if true, responsible for this interference. -dan
  5. @kortopates that is what the club plane shows in the video. @N201MKTurbo nothing was in the notams; it appears this is 5G related. Our junior Senator, who is very good on GA issues, has sponsored a senate bill to compensate for whatever damages are incurred (eg: purchase and installation of filters on GPS receivers), and I've offered to provide written or in-person testimony / data logs. -dan
  6. Not just me. Our local flying club has seen this over the last couple days. https://youtu.be/29nwLTRTOXY kinda not great considering we have only a GPS approach into here. How do you go missed if the new 5G tower or whatever blocks GPS?
  7. Also had LOI showing on HSI display. Is Loss of Integrity
  8. Today around 1:00PM CST, Igot a voice annunciation “terrain not available” and a “no GPS position message” on both displays. I have two receivers. It corrected itself in a few minutes. Is it possible this was a GPS outage or local Interference.? -Dan
  9. Just took some photos. Mine is similar but less noticeable than yours. Again, left side clean as a whistle, right side with small buildup. I run LOP/SOP except for climb. Been flying that was for 700 hours, and this is how the exhaust has looked from day one. The angle on the right exhaust pipe is much more perpendicular to the airflow and dumps no chalky residue on the belly. The left side is clean in the pipe but leavs quite a bit of chalky residu on the belly. My best guess is that the in-exhaust buildup is an accumulation of the chalky Lead stuff. I borescope both turbos at annual, and they are both fine. It’s just not something that keeps me up at night. the crankcase breather /air-oil separator tube is on the left side, so it has nothing to do with that. Three shots of the right and one of the left attached. -dan
  10. Congratulations. I have a little of the same on the right exhaust -never really noticed it. The right pipe is much longer and extends outboard more than the left, so maybe the exhaust hitting the pipe that is cooled in the airflow more is at work here? -dan
  11. Inflation alone accounts for an increase to $882,000 ish. https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm G1000 NXi is probably another $75-100,000 on the margin. Inefficiencies from low production raise cost/price more. -Dan
  12. if my only experience were in a no-hazard cirrus, I would share your opinion of the Mooney FIKI TKS, maybe. that cirrus installation is woefully inadequate. I have owned a tks-equipped Mooney for 17 years, split between a no-hazard 231 and a FIKI Acclaim. A properly operating TKS system will allow escape from quite a lot of ice. My worst icing encounter was in the 231 over the mountains of Washington State one summer. They system kept up fine. I totally agree with @donkayethat the turbo opens up all kinds of options. -dan
  13. Ah, I understand now. Sorry for singling you two out. Carry on. -Dan
  14. @EricJand @Niko182 have contributed three and two posts to this thread respectively with no content related to the topic, but rather giving in to their urge to tell others what not to do. Perhaps you both should look in the mirror. Nobody else is talking about politics. Your scolding does nothing to elevate this discussion or this community. content…. my business generates a great deal of lead. We also consume a great deal. There is no lead smelting in the US any more. All the new lead is coming from abroad, mostly China. Even if you can get a bulk ship to bring it, shipping costs are way up, deliveries uncertain, etc, so finished goods like ammunition or lead batteries will be expensive and scarce for the foreseeable future. -dan
  15. @DXB is your data set US only or whatever is in the NTSB database? This years records include 2 in Canada and 1 in Europe
  16. Important to distinguish between fatalities and fatal accidents. NTSB shows 7 fatal accidents YTD 3 are non US -Dan
  17. When I bought my TN, I was also looking at TN Bonanza's, and I recall the TKS FIKI had to be carefully sequenced before or after (don't remember) the TN STC. Tip tanks also disqualified bonanza from FIKI. At the end of the day, I decided the Mooney Acclaim G1000/FIKI was the more certain choice that better fit my mission. -dan
  18. If the starter adapter is fixed, I'm in! -dan
  19. Without moving the center of lift aft. That tail is working pretty hard in the landing phase. Slats! That’s what we need! -dan
  20. This has been my experience, too. I do get some finger-to-finger variability, and sometimes the mid 80's readings will creep up to low 90's over 5-15 seconds. Must be my nail polish lol -dan
  21. Clarence, What is it about the Sky Tec starters that kill starter adapters? I had an Iskra replaced with a ST4 last august on a repaired adapter, and just over a year later, it appears the adapter is leaking quite a bit of oil? Thanks in advance. -dan
  22. So, my 20 yo son and I did it, admittedly with an empty baggage compartment. The rear seat backs with the headrests installed are fairly tall, but there s ample room between them. so, the verdict: easy, quick and utterly undignified. -dan
  23. I care quite a bit more about my SpO2 than the ambient O2 level. Different people perform differently in the same environment. I also care quite a bit about determining what my hypoxia symptoms are and being able to identify them before losing the ability to react. Supplemental O2 is cheap. The pulse demand systems and boom cannulas are comfortable. It’s really no burden to use them above 10,000 which is where my levels start to really fall off. -dan
  24. I am going to attempt to get out the baggage door today. Should be interesting. There will be no video, only a stopwatch. not only should you open the cabin door in preparation for an off-field landing, it’s also important to close the latch and wedge a coat or blanket ibetween the door and frame to lessen the likelihood that it closes up on you. -dan
  25. Same on both batteries? If only one battery, there’s your problem. -dan
