  1. Locked in our hanger at KCXY, Harrisburg, PA. Tim '78 201
  2. ForeFlight is great at showing TFR's, and if you tap on them you can read about them.
  3. I've been thinking about getting a Robotow for our '78J. We recently moved to a different hanger and moving it by hand is very difficult. Any pros or cons? How does it compare to a gas model?
  4. I have a hard time posting on my PC, but no problem when I use my iPad...like now!
  5. Make sure you have nothing running in the background. Double click the home button and shut off the icons in the bottom row by holding your finger on one until minus signs appear. Then simple touch each minus sign.
  6. I keep my current flight log in my flight bag so it's always with me when I fly. My older ones are at home with the engine and airframe logs. If our plane is in for maintenance, then I take those with me.
  7. I've used it a few times and it is a lot of fun. It's much better if you review it on a PC rather than your iPad. My biggest problem is remembering to start it before a flight. Must be a senior problem.
  8. There was an app featured in Flying magazine called CloudAhoy. It tracks your flight on an iPad and can be viewed later on the ground. It's easy, free and fun. Has anyone else tried it?
  9. Could some explain exactly what the"red box" is? Thanks, Tim
  10. I just signed up for their Webinar access and e-mail updates. It looks like a great product.
  11. For some reason I can post a picture from my PC, but my text is from my iPad. Last Oct I was flying into York, PA. I lowered the gear on downwind, green light was on. On short final, I gave it a shake to make sure it was down and locked. As the wheels touched the runway, the gear collapsed. I never wanted to be one of the pilots, but here I am, bruised ego and all. We now co-own a '78 201.
  12. I collect the fuel with a GATS jar, then pour it into a larger jar through a paper coffee filter, inspect it for water, then pour it back into the tank through the coffee filter once more. I know, it's belts and suspenders.
  13. Thanks Kris. We just took possession about 2 months ago and we're really enjoying it. It's great to be back in a 201.
