I know picking up would be ideal. I live in Alabama. How much to ship it to Fairhope Alabama.? Also I have a 28v system in my Mooney. Will it work with a 28v setup?

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. The lights will be here in a couple of days so I will be doing research while I wait. I have never done anything of this caliber it’s a little well a lot intimidating. There is so much knowledge here on the site so that’s a big help.. much thanks to everyone

I’m debating on giving it a try. So probably first step is to remove the access panels on the wings and what are the best connectors to use for connecting the wires? Thanks Paul for the advice

Yes. I’m going with the round Orion 360. Not sure about the oval one. The 360 was priced high enough for me not consider anything else that was more expensive. He said I definitely needed the one with 3.75” base and only gave me the 2 options. I think the other one was the 7108 model which was not as bright

Thank you. Hopefully it will be all worth it in the end. I didn’t realize the installation time. The mechanic here charges $115 hour. Might have to try it myself and just ask a ton of questions.. thanks for the help

I’m not mechanical savvy unfortunately. Wish I had the knowledge to do things like this and even basic tasks of changing oil. Most do it themselves but I’ve never tried. Might be something to consider

So I took advantage of the great pricing today on new wheels Orion led lights and wanted to know what would be reasonable for installation costs associated. Here is what I ordered Whalen Orion 6502ge, 6502re, o5000v2, and the Orion 360 red beacon. I would think I would want them synced to flash at the same time but that could be personal preference. What are your thoughts on installation? Thanks for the advice

When I bought my plane we did a little over 1000nm in a day and it was fun but tired when we arrived. I would split it up into 2 days of flying to get there. Really nothing to gain by trying to push it all into one day of traveling. I was definitely not as alert when I landed. We flew from KLWM to KORL on day 1 -

I am a private pilot with about 300 hours. 75 in my current 98 201 with an insurance of 170k. No accidents or any claims. I thought the original $3100 a year was on the high side until this year. Unfortunately I don’t see them coming down anytime soon. They will have people acclimated to paying the going rates and slowly increase them.

Mine has gone up to $3700 from $3100 last year. Hate the increase but it is what it is. Not much choice right now. Seems to be a market thing

Update on Garmin Pilot. I flew an hour trip today and WiFi the iPad to the flight stream 510 and transferred the flight plan to the gtn 750. Into the flight I made sure I was on FIS-B and I no longer had gps or it said internet connection. This is strange as this has just recently started doing this. I could not even use Garmin Pilot on my iPhone while flying. It loses gps. The airplane no longer shows up on the screen. Kind of out of solutions at this point. Any other ideas you all can offer would be great. Thanks in advance

Does a Garmin dealer do this and if so how much is it or do I update it from a card reader?

I did not know that the FS 510 had to be updated.

If the shop does not finish the install and the plane can’t be flown, could this result in some form of insurance claim? Not sure they would cover it but hate to think that the shop could collect that much money and abandon the plane install project
