  1. i was thinking avionics at around 45k and engine possibly 40k i might be off on the engine price, just a guess. So that brings up the point of negotiate a better price and do the upgrades or buy a newer one with everything already done. Not much out there to choose from now.
  2. Appreciate the advice. I agree with the thorough inspection just was not sure what a good price on this plane would be.
  3. I have been looking for an Ovation and have not had much luck. So I have been looking at bravos and 252's. What are your thoughts on this? I know the engine is at TBO but not sure if it could be a good platform to build on. My only concern would be by the time I spend all that would be required I could probably buy a newer plane. I appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/26618273/1989-mooney-m20m-bravo-piston-single-aircraft
  4. Interested in the window shields.
  5. Thanks. I had seen it on controller. Would like to find something if possible with a little lower hours on the engine. Seems to be a nice plane. I think it’s also under contract. Hope it all goes well for both involved.
  6. He sold my 201 about a month ago and was very pleased. Top notch service. I would highly recommend him.
  7. I understand. How often do the turbos need overhauling? And cost if you happen to know. I think I read it generally cost 2500-3000 but I may be mistaken.
  8. That’s where 90% of my flying is. 6-8k. But these are on shorter trips. I’m sure if I were flying 5 hours and winds were favorable up higher I would want to be there. Just not much to choose from on the ovation market right now. Hopefully one will surface soon. Thanks.
  9. Yes. I agree. I would like to stay at 200k or less. I have seen some great deals on the Bravo but a little concerned about the cost to maintain and overhaul vs the ovation. I think I would enjoy the turbo when needed but most of my flying is 6-8k
  10. I agree. Hopefully a nice one will hit the market shortly. I keep watching but nothing on the radar yet.
  11. I agree. I’m on Jimmys list as he just sold my 201. Thought about broadening my search to the Bravo but I just don’t need the turbo
  12. Still shopping for the Ovation. There is really not much to choose from right now at my price point. If anyone on here has any information about someone wanting to upgrade or sell their Ovation, I would be interested. Thanks in advance
  13. What warranty does western skyways offer on their engines? One thing Taft I liked about Jewell as they only charged me I think around $1500 for R&R and others were talking 5-7k
  14. I believe it was around 21k. That also included R&R
  15. Had my overhaul with Jewell and had a great experience. Might have been a bad day for them. They were prompt and very informative with pictures of the progress also.
  16. I’m interested in the sidewinder. Yes. This site is awesome with a lot of great knowledge from everyone.
  17. From what I’ve read the MT is what seems to work out for the best.
  18. Yes. I think your going to get more out of the right prop
  19. From what I’ve read there is not much performance difference between the 360 and 390
  20. Very well said. Investing in your training is a key factor. I’ll be glad when I can get focused on my IFR ticket. There are times that I feel I need to retake my private pilot ticket.
  21. That is what I’m shooting for. My forever plane. I feel the ovation will be just that
  22. Good to have that information. Thank you. N98GA is a very nice ovation.
  23. Budget wise I will probably wind up hopefully finding an Ovation with at least a gtn 750 or something comparable to it. The g1000 ovations are still out of my price point. Might be best as you and others are saying to get a nice clean one without he g1000 and build it up to what I am wanting . Thanks for the advice and information. Much appreciated
  24. Yes. It seems like the ones that have the STEC 55 and the 530w are selling for about he same price as the g1000. Makes one wonder if you were to replace the 530w and the 430w with the gtn 750 or equivalent if you have about the same money in the panel as updating the g1000 to waas. Might be exactly like you said , just depends on what you are wanting. I think I will shift gears and look for the ones without the g1000 unless there was a deal too good to pass up on.
