  1. Anyone know the glide ratio for my 63 M20D. I need to input that into my Stratus 2. Can not find it in the POH. Thank You!
  2. I am interested in buying I will pm you Ron
  3. Hi Skates97. Do you still have 48 gallon tanks in your D/C? What RPM/ MP do you cruise at? Fuel burn? Love hearing your progress/ adventures! Ron
  4. I bought a couple at LASAR for $25 for the pair.
  5. Beautiful Plane!
  6. I have the same thing, the ring is for the factory CHT gauge. On my plane anyway.
  7. I have a PF exhaust system on my M20D. Anything that makes the flow smoother adds horsepower. Power Flow says my engine has the sweet spot set at 2450 RPM. They also said they don't add more power, they just free up power that's lost in stock systems. The slip joints have to be lubed with anti-seize at annual. Well worth the cost. I know Curtis at Knisley Welding and have used them for our customer airplane needs. They are great! But for my own Mooney, this system make my Lycoming run like a thoroughbred.
  8. I served time on an aircraft carrier in the late 70's. I always loved nose art. So I recently added this to my 'Cinnamon Girl' M20D. PS: My wife has not seen her yet
  9. Beautiful Mooney! Congrats! I have to be careful when I meet pilot's looking for an airplane. After I give a ride in my D, they go out and buy one. The Mooney wave, know it well! Love the planes!
  10. Any big speed differences Between the 2 & 3 blade?
  11. Hi Gang! I'm replacing my propeller and wanted to hear from the group on experience with Hartzell and McCauley, two and three blades. I'm told by my prop shop, the McCauley 3 blade is about as fast as the 2 blade and is not much more money. He says McCauley is easier to deal with too. What has been your experience. Thanks for the responses! Ron
  12. I have a Century/Castleberry HSI NSD Compass System that was in good working order when my customer removed it from his panel. Slaved gyro-stabilized aircraft magnetic heading, selected course, VOR/LOC course deviation, Glide Slope deviation. Mid-Continent quoted me $105 to test & certify it. They also sell the instrument alone for $3548 for just the main unit, they have it listed on their web-site. I have the HSI, flux detector, gyro slaving amplifier, connectors and wiring harness for $1500 as removed. If interested, call me 707 291-8958. Located in Santa Rosa CA. Part numbers 52D137-1332 s/n 1-11733 c dated July 24 1989, Flux detector 1B495, s/n H-003424, Gyro slaving amp IC714, s/n 3734A
  13. Hi Gang! i'm planning on swapping out the old large attitude indicator 3.5" (which also has the low vacuum lights) to a Sigma-Tek 3" indicator. Wondering if anyone knows if I can buy an adapter plate for that or do I have to make one from an old panel. Thank you for the assistance! Ron
  14. I have a digital clock on the right side panel. Also have the single probe EGT on the far right.
  15. Hello Gang! I have a Sigma-Tek 5000B-37 attitude indicator and a new 1" vacuum gauge that I want to replace the original AI with. Any helpful hints would be grateful. Some say I need a tilted unit and some say I do not. I also have a EDM 800 JPI that I would like to install where the clock is between the altimeter and the T&Bank. Don't know if it will fit. Thank-you for the help in advance! Ron
  16. Happy Holidays and have a great time Fritz!
  17. My incandescant landing light stopped working. I wanted to use the Teledyne LED Alphabeam landing, but it's not approved for my Mooney. I would also like to replace the nav lights at some point. What LED landing light do you recommend? Happy Holidays!
  18. Hello gang. I'm having an audio panel installed in the stack (PS Engineering 6000). I have been using a portable for the last year. The previous owner used a hand held microphone and listened on the speaker. The avionics tech said he could drill a hole and mount a micro switch PTT to a plate. I currently have a velcro switch that go around the left yoke arm, but you hit the switch in the wrong place and sometimes it wont transmit. I want it to look and function as best as possible. I also have seem the foam cover with the switch on top. One of my friends sent that back not happy with the quality. Do I dill a hole and mount the switch to a plate or not? Thanks for the advise in advance. Ron
  19. Do you still have the attitude indicator? Thanks. Ron 707 636-7062
  20. Though I don't need them a this time, how much do you want for the six pack and the manifold/fuel pressure gauge? It's always nice to have back-ups. What about your attitude indicator? Thanks! Ron
  21. Be sure to tap on the gauges, the needle may be stuck and may need a little gentle persuasion. Yes if the ground is removed the gauge will peg. My left gauge was not reading correctly and I swapped out the sending unit, it turned out the ground way not great behind the panel and now it reads correctly. Ron
  22. I bought the parts from Lasar. Easy enough to rebuild, if you don't loose the two mini spring loaded ball bearings for the left and right detents, when taken apart. Mine didn't leak, but was hard to turn. Works great now.
  23. Way to Go!
  24. What are you using for insulation behind the panels. Also what do you recommend for inside the firewall in front of the pedals. Speaking of pedals, the boots are a bear to get at, I see they are held down with a plate that's held down with tiny screws to the floor and bulkhead. Any tricks to replace this and who supplies them. Thanks for the help on my M20D ©. Great source of Mooney Love here! Ron
