  1. Make sure you have ground power plugged in if you're not downloading while the engine is running. There's a chance that the IFD will power down and you'll need to get the computer re-flashed. I believe it has to be above an 8 amp supply and it's in the manual.
  2. I went in to see Cody after he was recommended from Paul Maxwell (Don Maxwell Mooney) and he's everything people say about him. He took the time to show me the inside of a prop that's the same as mine as well as looking at mine to make sure everything checked out. Like you he let me park inside his shop, which is one of the nicest hangars I've seen. It would be hard to not compare it to an operating room.
  3. 1/ Don I'm pretty sure it's a differential sensor. I've installed it in the same position as the original (Shading I believe) and it will only show 4-5 psi 2/ EI (Oregon) Sorry don't know your name. These are good questions and JPI has not been helpful. They've just said this is what we supply and figure it out yourself. BTW, I have tried switching wiring without any luck. I've attached some pics so hopefully the will help.
  4. Has anyone installed the FP sensor on a Bravo? I have a question about the two fuel lines and setup. The analyzer works as advertised and I'm happy with it however JPI hasn't been any help with getting their fuel pressure sensor to read the proper pressure. Thanks Steve
  5. Price lowered $350.00
  6. Yes I know it'll work with the GTN 750 and 650.
  7. Replaced this unit with a Garmin GTX 345. Worked great when removed. Includes rubber glare shield base, antennas and 4 ft power extension $350, Includes shipping to US and Canada
  8. Garmin FS 210 for flight plan transfer between 530W, 430W and iPads. Includes 15 pin connector $895.00 Includes shipping in Canada or US
  9. Must have the need for speed gene, Acclaims are faster then Indy Cars,, by a little,
  10. Had 2 sets in my J. I leaned the back of the back seat forward then laid the club bags without the woods down over the seat. Then tied the woods together with a bungee cord and laid the woods over them with the heads stuck into the hat rack area. For My Bravo I've had 2 sets laid down over the lowered back seat with the woods and driver still in the bag. Had to do a little golf bag yoga but its doable and I think four clubs will fit but you'll only be able to take three people.
  11. I just flew three short flights today and all were at ~65% and 15 GPH. At 5500 ft msl I was trueing at 162 KTAS. if you approximate for 2knts / 1000 ft that would equal to 182 KTAS at 15K and at 15 GPH. TIT was at 1575deg.
  12. People mention about the economy of the J, S or R models but once you go turbo it's hard to move backward.
  13. Something that I've found flying my Bravo is the smoothness of the ride through turbulence and its much better then the "J" I used to own or the K's that I've flown in. The bravo or long bodies have a higher wing loading then the smaller models so they don't get pushed around as much. As for useful load mine has approximately 960 lbs and I have TKS. As for fuel efficiency I try to fly above 15K and at that altitude or higher and 65% power I can attain 180 kt TAS on 15.5 GPH. I did spend some time re-rigging the plane to fly level and without much rudder input.
  14. Are the TIT probes the same type? J or K's? If they are try switching them from one aircraft to the other and see if the results are the same as before. Secondly, as for the cylinder cooling, are the baffles equal? Any leaks or areas not covered or are they different types of baffle material?
  15. Get the 550 STC, install the engine and necessary add ons and keep it US registered.
  16. Just an update for those with any issues with model Hartzell ERB 8011, The bendix drive was fully engaging into the ring gear and the grinding noise was from the area between the motor and the gearbox. Thankfully the starter is going to be replaced under warranty.
  17. I have a new starter with 35 hours on it and the starter spins however the Bendix drive doesn't engage. Other than buying a Sky Tec, does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks Steve
  18. HI Ken, I have TKS also but when I first bought the plane the rigging was substantially off and the engine baffle compartment had many leaks. I think my temps are still high so I'll probably continue to stop the leaks or get a new baffle kit from BeeGee. I think the people who did the rigging before I bought the plane were chasing a problem and just made it worse. I had one guy on my field check and fix the rudder problem which lead to re-rigging the ailerons and flaps properly.
  19. I can get 175 KTAS at below 10,000 ft but at 16 GPH
  20. With the way gas has been priced over the last few months that might as well been a decade ago. My point was to ask Banyon for a discount
  21. I just had my tanks resealed by Edison a couple months ago and he replaced the drains for the same money. It seems like a lot of money but after he finished with it I was glad he did it and feel safer that I won't have a leaky valve problem in the future. I'm not sure what the parts cost is but it's a fair amount of labour too. You'll have to have your tanks filled before you leave so Edison can do a leak check. Banyon is the only fuel server on the field and they were $9.85/gal when I had mine finished. Phone Banyon up before your tanks are ready and ask them for a discount. I was able to get $1/gal discount ($90.00) which is enough for a round of drinks with anyone but pilots.
  22. Has anyone figured out how to get rid of condensation drops in their wing fuel gauges without removing them from the plane and leaving the inspection covers in?
  23. From what I've read and heard Berry mounts aren't approved for Bravo's/TLS's and I believe there's an SB on them as well as it being stated in the service manual.
  24. Update on my Bravo and the vibration problem, I just had the engine mounts replaced with new Lord mounts and now theres quite a positive difference. It's actually very smooth throughout all the engine RPM ranges. When the shop replaced the previous mounts they were found to be askew in the engine mount so that the rubber didn't fit properly in the mount and we also found the engine mount bolt was loose. Flew from FXE up to GSP and tried the range of RPM's from 2200 to 2550 and it feels great now.
  25. I have about 15 hours with it and I really like it's ability to do "things" with it. I haven't used the keyboard but I use the IFD 100 and Foreflight and enjoy the transferability. So far the ability to change the data fields to the way I want is more than Garmin has. I flew roughly 10 years with a GTN 750 in my J and didn't have any issues with it. I do like it's larger screen but with a coupled Area 760 to the IFD I can get the information I need and want for IFR . Flying through Florida last week it was nice to have the traffic box separate in the data field as well as having distance and time to different waypoints in other data fields. Having both wifi and BT helps with connections. I'm still learning so it'll get more useful.
