  1. Soooo...where r we at with this?
  2. That looks like business as usual in my plane....wife asleep, kids in the back, luggage piled up to the roof line!
  3. Assuming the storage issue is a non-issue then I would be intrested in purchasing a full set at the $85.00 per price....count me in!
  4. Take off to touch down average LoP fuel burn is almost exactly 10 GPH
  5. I will just ask Aerox then to see what the fitting is.
  6. Quote: Nina ...According to the broker, It was all repaired properly and it's better than before.
  7. If Garmin is feeling the heat from GPS-enabled tablets and smartphones, it's not taking the competition lying down. This week Garmin rolls out the GLO, a new self-contained GPS receiver that links to Android and iPad tablets via Bluetooth, wirelessly providing position updates up to 10 times a second. Remote GPS gadgets for tablets aren't new, but Garmin equipped GLO not just with GPS, but with a receiver for Russia's GLONASS system. That puts another 24 satellites on the table for rapid time to first fix and more robust position sensing once the location is calculated. "Whether you're driving through an urban canyon or flying an airplane at any altitude, GLO ensures that your mobile device maintains a strong, reliable GPS signal," says Garmin's Dan Bartel, VP of worldwide sales. Garmin is clearly targeting the tablet market, which have siphoned at least some sales from Garmin's line of dedicated portable GPS navigators. The company is offering a GLO-for-aviation package that includes a mount, power cable and free six-month trial of Garmin's recently updated Pilot app for iPad and Android tablets. The GLO itself can be powered from ship's power or an internal battery with a 12-hour duration. Garmin says GLO will be available in August for $99 and the GLO for Aviation package is available immediately at a suggested retail of $129.
  8. My Stormscope 10A will be for sale for a reasonable price as it's coming out as part of a panel mod
  9. IMHO, I think the company shooting for what Mooney should have morphed into it Pipistrel. I truly hope they could make the Panthera a reality.
  10. Why are you talking in circles? As not everyone is going to understand what your talking about would it not be easier to just state the facts as you know them to be?
  11. I dont have an intercooler or automatic wastegate and run cool T.I.T.'s even up high: http://youtu.be/Yn9ZHkRwf2U
  12. Did you ever come up with an asking price or figure anything out about that FAA record which would seem to have indicated a gear up that you said wasn't documented in the logs?
  13. Interestingly enough I was also coming back from the bahamas and was flying just east of that area yesterday around the same time. I had to divert to Titusville, Fl on the east coast due to that same system which I wasn't going to tangle with.
  14. Here comes the next mandatory AD!
  15. The current version of the RC Allen 2600-3 looks pretty good and at $2,600 would seem reasonable if I were flying through the clouds with a failed primary AI. Could apply that money to an Aspen though.....
  16. No issues. 10x easier to use then my 430w. Very intuitive. Worth the $. No negatives other then early users such as myself had to return the units to Garmin for the "Mod 1 upgrade". No issues in turbulence. You can change frequencies with the knobs if it's bumpy. Great graphics. touch screen is cool
  17. Brett- I'm on the east coast. Use corrosion X as well. Just had 208-B signed off on AGAIN. NO CORROSION
  18. Maybe Vref should have a deduction for FL or gulfcoast Plane deduct 20k for corrosion. You guys are out of your mind with these perceived corrosion issues because of where a plane is located.
  19. Mr.Jones- so if we look at the older turbo's like my K you will find that you could fill the tanks and then still fill the cabin with up to 500lbs of people and baggage and travel for 6 hours before having to land due to fuel reserves. As such, you will find the long bodies are not all that better (subjective term) then the older mid body Mooney's from an efficency perspective
  20. I had the same issue. Here is something else for you to test...a bit different from Byron's suggestion. Next time your flying bang on it really hard with something. Those little suckers get stuck for one reason or another every now and then
  21. What I do with my fuel depends on two things 1)Who's asking and 2)Who's watching ( I live in FL)
  22. ...a steal? ha, I'm sure the seller will want top dollar for it. I'm not sure what valuation people use for some of these busted up planes.
  23. That's part of the reason no one fuels my plane without me being there to watch the fuel go into the plane and I'm the only one who touches the fuel caps...both on and off.
  24. Everytime something like this happens I wonder... how in the world it could have happened. Short of an engine failure which statistically speaking is unlikely what else would cause a plane to fly into tress? I know there are alot of possibilites so hopefully the survivor will be able to provide some insight as to what caused this tragic incident to occur prior to anyone speculating RIP
