  1. After several years of great enjoyment, I am selling my 1992 J Model MSE. Last year my wife and I decided to "sell the farm," buy a trawler and cruise. It's been a crazy year, selling my company and our house, then getting rid of all of our stuff. Selling the house was easy for me, but parting with my Mooney has been much more difficult! I drug my feet too long and recently listed it with a broker. She is in great condition after I finally got her fixed up like I wanted; new paint, carpet and leather in 2012, new leather yokes last year! I look forward to the next owner having as much fun as I have with a great Mooney J. Here's the listing if you have a friend looking for a Mooney: http://www.chaseaviation.com/1992-mooney-m20j-mse-n201rp.html Leigh
  2. Thanks for the help. I think we are going to repair it and have it welded back together. Bumper, thanks for the offer in Nevada!
  3. The end of my extension support arm for the baggage door broke. Any suggestions on finding a replacement? Thanks!
  4. Actually, my wife and I are cosidering going to savannah to visit her sister. Maybe I can sneak away.
  5. Count me in also.
  6. Does anyone know the role that Bob Mier had in Mod Works?
  7. I just started using Avblend in the last two oil changes, but my oil has always turned dark by 15- 20 hours. That seems quick to me. Is there something esle that I should be considering?
  8. Every 30 hrs. or six months with Phillips X/C and Avblend. The oil is getting pretty dark by 30 hours.
  9. I am sure that Jeff will come along and give details, but Joey Cole patched a couple of leaks for him last year. He has reported to me, so far so good. I am sure it was a lot less than completely resealing the tanks.
  10. Wow, good luck with your new project.
  11. I am having my glass replaced while in for new interior. Light gray windscreen and front windows, dark in back.
  12. Jeff, go for it! I will look good as co-pilot.
  13. We are going down tomorrow and will be camping for the weekend. A Mooney gethering would be fun.
  14. I purchased my J through Richard. Yes, was a character and very passionate about Mooney's. Probably has the most colorful website out there! Simpathies to his family.
  15. I will be going down Friday and camping for the weekend. My son and his wife will be with us. Is there any interest in coordinating a Mooney gathering, maybe on Saturday?
  16. The above comment was mine (nels) not Mac201's. Not sure what is going on with the forum program?
  17. Quote: N601RX The FAA has tried to make this easier to install shoulder belts. It appears they would perfer that you have shoulder harnesses over just a lap belt. Search for FAA Policy Satement ACE-00-23.561.01. It outlines several instances where it can be done with just a log book entry.
  18. Astelmaszek, how much are you asking for your GMX200? I have an MX20 that the display has been going. I am interested in upgrading. Feel free to PM if you like.
  19. After their testing, Aviation Consumer recommends Concorde.
  20. Are there any updates to this thread? I am looking at paint and interior, so I thought this may be a good time to install a 406 ELT. Does anyone have experience replacing the antenna in the dorsal fin? Is it very involved? I hate to put on another exterior antenna. Thanks.
  21. I feel your pain. Two years ago, at overhaul, my shop found low time cylinders that I had overhauled with nickel carbide at ECI. Of course I have always wondered about the 600 hours "low time" cylinders. No way to verify.
  22. I have spoken to two paint shops so far while searching for the right shop for me. Both shops said it was not good to have the plane treated with corrosion x before painting and to wait a year to 18 months after.
  23. As an update to my post. I complained to www.aircraftpaintshcemes.com about their lack of Mooney paint schems and they refunded my payment. I guess they are better for other brands of aircraft. Thanks for all of the suggestions. It's fun looking at all the possibilities.
