  1. It does? Ours is set at 24, when I asked, the shop said that's what TCM requires, so we left it at that.
  2. EFBs can handle that easily. The language is fairly standard, so quite trivial to let the user set priorities and filters. GP already has a useful feature for runways. There's also a graphical notam feature. When I file IFR, I filter out obstacle NOTAMs as an example.
  3. Please allow me to go on a tangent. Suppose the advisory system could give you actionable information rather than just display raw data or alarm (like, "set FF to X"). Would that be: 1. Useful 2. Ever pass certification 3. Pass lawyer/insurance approvals?
  4. Suppose it's your lucky day and you've been given a blank sheet and authority to change the system. What would be your design? For this exercise, it would be useful to separate the format problem from the information problem.
  5. Maybe I don't make book numbers, but I'm sure faster than brand neighbor's brand X, and that's all that matters
  6. First, congratulations! Second, thank you for the blog!
  7. But isn't that what EzWxBrief does already?
  8. No one dared to ask the question, so I'll be the brave one :). Tell us, of those, which one is subjectively the best?
  9. Avidyne?
  10. Is the waypoint making a statement about the headwinds?
  11. I'm not sure what "endorsing" entails, but, there's an STC, someone has done lots of testing. If there's a will to read the market, and the bulk of the work was already done, why wouldn't you? Understandable if one is exiting the market. I suspect they will make an interesting case study in business schools sometimes in the future.
  12. One day? If I said I weren't jealous, I'd be lying...
  13. Long term business viability. If you have a captive customer base, not being customer friendly will work - but only for a while. Long term, the business will die.
  14. Thanks for sharing. So if you are an engine manufacturer, why wouldn't you take the steps to approve? Is the cost prohibitive?
  15. It is a requirement to get a stamp of approval on MS
  16. It doesn't say whether normalized, but given that it's tabulated in %, I think it's not.
  17. I found a 7 years old video by Paul Bertorelli: Top 10 Gear-Up: Cessna 210 : 18% Mooney : 10% Beech Twins: 9% Cessna Twins: 9% Beech Bonanzas: 5% Piper Comanche : 5% Piper Twins: 5% Cessna 172RG : 4% Cessna 182RG : 4% Piper Malibu : 4%
  18. In that case, I also vote for keeping it until it breaks.
  19. What is driving your KFC150? Another consideration is whether you want to reduce the risk of gyro failure
  20. Thought your neighbor's brand C flies like a truck? Good news, It's not just you, AI thinks so too ...

  21. Btw I believe it's a required equipment, AOA indicator is not sufficient.

  23. Are A/P level buttons approved for recovery? I can't seem to find approval nor prohibition in our POH supplements. Appears safe for some models, would be nice to know for our models. https://airfactsjournal.com/2020/08/recovery-from-spirals-with-the-lvl-button/
  24. They do, an LED though, not a backlight
  25. Thank you, that fits the observation.
