  1. Don't know total cost....I'm sure it varies based on yaw/no yaw....which shop does install....what mods to the panel to install the 507... etc. Whatever the cost is, it's aviation. I haven't found anything in aviation to be cheep except the owner.
  2. Bob...FYI....Garmin is working on the GFC500 certification for short bodies as we speak.
  3. Hey Ross, if you're still interested in the wing leveler system, let me know and I'll send you some pics and show you what I have. Thanks Wes
  4. Right....the system is nice when it's working properly, but if you get a leaky servo or a remote gyro acting up, look out. Ask me how I know! While working on my Instrument ticket, it was like having a little guy under the panel with a different plan than me. Usually seemed like right during short final. Not cool.
  5. Hey Gary, I may have the o-360 stuff that you're looking for and you may have something that I'm looking for also. I called and left a message. Thought maybe we could see if this could work out. 913-702-4344
  6. Wing leveler is is just what it says. It simply tries to beep the plane level. In my '66 E, the system gets it's information from the remote gyro. That's the only imput into the system. AI, turn and bank, VSI are not connected in any way. When the remote gyro senses a change in direction....left, right, up, down, roll......it compensates to maintain straight and level flight. It isn't an autopilot and won't fly a heading, just straight ahead. If there aren't any cross or quartering winds at altitude affecting track vs heading, then it will hold your heading pretty well, but it isn't an autopilot.
  7. Ross, I spoke with RDuplechin and shared the info on the wing leveling system. I'd like to give him a little time to do some research. If he finds that this isn't what he is looking for, I will be glad to pass the same information your direction.
  8. RDuplechin, I got your address and sent several pictures. Let me know if you received them. Thanks
  9. I have no idea what GFC500 is or isn't compatible with....my guess is it should play with others as that would also be a disadvantage to Garmin if it didn't. Again, I'm not the guy to say what it'll be compatible with. That would be a good question for an avionics shop/Garmin dealer. As far as the wing leveler system, I'll have to pull it out, look it over, and take some pics. I've just recently logged into ms and haven't posted pictures so not sure how yet. If you give me an email, or cell #, I can mail or text pics of what I have.
  10. Tossing this into the ring.....I have the complete wing leveler system that was removed from my '66 M20E minus the vacuum tubing. The remote gyro needs to be overhauled and I haven't checked the servos for leaks, although they appear to be in good condition. The reason I say remote gyro overhaul is because it would operate fine and then suddenly get a mind of it's own. If you think you might be interested, let me know. Wasn't really looking to sell it, but if it is what you are looking for, I'd probably part with it. FYI, if you are looking at autopilot systems and don't need it tomorrow, Garmin should have the GFC500 certification for short body Mooneys some time this fall. They are using my '66 E to get certs. I just delivered it to them yesterday.
  11. They wanted an E model because of the 200 hp. The testing will then cover all models with the same airframe and 200 hp or less.
  12. Casey....I can't tell you when Garmin will have the GFC500 certification complete, but I do know when the short body installation and testing is set to begin. I have the E model that they are going to use, and will be delivering it to them some time this week....weather permitting. Should be done by fall if I had to guess.
  13. Right....I'm looking forward to the new system. Even though bigger and better things keep coming down the line, this has been on my list and is pretty much the last piece of the puzzle. I've been waiting like everyone else for certification, and turns out I'm it....like you too.
  14. Yep.....that's me.
  15. E model goes in next week.
  16. Good deal....I'm the E Model going in next week. Everybody can get their happy pants on....short body cert is near.
  17. kpaul...is that your F model that Garmin has right now? If so, how much longer do they say it's gonna take to finish up?
  18. Be verrry careful if you try to drive the tapered pin out with a hammer. They make a tool to remove it. It costs about as much as the repair of the jeweled clock in the pilot side yoke...providing you don't damage the yoke in the process. Ask me how I know this. Education costs money... and I went to school! The good news is...i graduated....i don't use a hammer any more. And by the way, you don't have to tap it very hard to cost yourself a lot of money, headaches, and time. Just saying.
  19. If you are interested in the servos, pm me. They are as removed from my '66 E model. As far as I know, the only issue was the remote gyro, which needed rebuilt. I have that also, but as I said, it needs repair.
  20. Are they the same servos used with pc? If so, I've got a set.
  21. Tried to go to the website but appears not to be available. Any other way to contact/place order? Phone # ?
  22. Toto, I've tried to pm you to give you my email and phone #, but haven't been successful. If you want to try to send me your info I'll get in touch with you. I think I might be able to help.
  23. Where are you based at in Kansas City? I might be able to help.
