  1. nebhuskr123....If you pm me an email address, I'll send you a picture of what they did.
  2. Pacific oil cooler is top notch.
  3. FYI...take your clock out first...they don't like the impact. Ask me how I know. And yes there is a tool to get them out.
  4. Been flying my E (certification plane) and will tell you that the GFC500 is everything and more than I could have imagined. Everything is on the numbers. Smooth, state of the art system. Definitely a game changer...flying taken to another level. Hope all of you have the opportunity to experience it.
  5. There is usually a PMA lag of a couple weeks...so I was told...so they wait to update so people don't start trying to order kits that haven't been produced yet. It's a process.
  6. Yes...'65 and newer based on s/n.
  7. It keeps the plane in coordinated flight.....in other words, you take your feet off of the pedals and the yaw damper keeps the ball centered. With the ball centered, the plane isn't yawing left or right.
  8. I put it in a descending bank with A/P off...pressed LVL and let go of the yoke. Plane rolled out straight and level. Also, the yaw damper is verrry nice. Everything that I did today worked flawlessly.....it's very impressive. Going from a 430W to a GTN650, and no A/P to GFC500 is quite a change. There's no shortage of learning here.
  9. Here are pics of the panel....it must be real.
  10. I didn't respond cause I was afraid he was serious.
  11. In order to certify GFC500 for each type and model, every option is installed and tested. The yaw damper is NICE. As for my plane...along with the GFC500 install, we changed the 430W out for a 650 and the 330ES transponder for a remote 345. This allowed more room for the mode controller. I'll try to get some pictures later today...after I get back from playing...I mean flying.
  12. Keep telling yourself that....pretty soon you can believe it too.
  13. Just picked my '66 E model up from Garmin and took it home. Plan to take it out this weekend and get familiar with all the new stuff. For those interested, Garmin does have an early (pre '65) Mooney scheduled to start certification soon.
  14. Mine is a 1966 E. It is finished. Test flights finished. Certification finished. Conformity finished. STC signed. Experimental status switched back to certified status tomorrow. The PMA lag will be the only hurdle left for customers. I'll be playing GFC500 this weekend...weather permitting.
  15. Certification of the short bodys is pretty good news to me.
  16. Ok.....I can give some facts...not speculation. I am going to pick my E model up from Garmin on Friday...day after tomorrow. The STC is signed and it will be switched back to certified status by Friday. I also know that they have an early C model slated for certification starting in January. Be patient....it is coming....or keep speculating.
  17. It's worked out well. All finished. Waiting on paperwork. I'll be bringing it home soon....I'm ready!
  18. KLudwick...I'm at KMKC...when I get my plane back that is. Great place...big hangars...cheap gas...towered...very secure.
  19. The E flew for the first test flight yesterday. Install es complete and testing has begun.
  20. Vampliers have saved the day several times.
  21. Kpaul is correct...the E model is currently in Garmin's possession. They have begun the process for certification. This I know for sure, reguardless of what anybody says. I own the E that they have.
  22. I understand the thought....just letting you know that GFC500 is on the way in case anybody gets tired of waiting on TT. Bottom line, it's whatever fits your mission.
