Yea! In for the results! -Don

Went out to the plane today to get a start on the breakers -- found out they were not the right ones so, added the No Step decals and AV Gas 100LL stickers, swept it out, added toggle switch covers, then took better pics of the panel: Toggle Switch Covers on the left side: The toggle switch covers are to help me locate the correct switch so I don't switch the fuel gauges vs boost pump -- not a fan of the single gauge so when I update to a monitor system, that will be gone but for now, this will give me what I need. The 2 that are in the middle are for strobes (which I don't have now) and the pitot heat -- which I do have -- go figure ;o) Johnson bar was a bit funky as it would kinda catch in the hook. I'm having the AP look @ that -- worked great on the ground. Also, found a knuckle buster on the after maintenance fight -- really took some skin -- bleed all over my hand -- was fun to fly with my hand like that for 30 minutes. Found the offender -- bolt on the passenger's seat. Seems if the co-pilot pulls the seat up close, the bolt is right there. I'll make sure that is covered -- you can bet on that. Outside of the down lock block (which will get replaced as soon as the group buy get's done), she flew great. Flys very different than the F -- that is for sure! Can't wait to put more time on her -- really sucks waiting for the medical ;o( -Don

While not a Mooney, I can atest to Adams. i did their paint correction in 2017, this is over 2 years later and all I do is a Gary Dean wash and Adams detail spray. This also includes 6 track days: I’ve done no paint correction since I did the original acrylic paint sealant. Adams have great products... yes that is a swirl free surface on a 2011 Camaro - factory paint too in most areas! if your curious as to how it looks overall: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10611579&postcount=2590 -Don

I have what I think is correct: Down lock block: AN 3-26A Bolt AN 960-10 Washer AN 363-1032 Nut Up lock block: AN 3-17A Bolt AN 960-10 Washer AN 363-1032 Nut Aviall here I come! at least that’s what my manual says ;o) I’m assuming the push down lock block button unscrews so that assembly can be removed/installed. Don’t see that breakdown in my manual as I believe those early model Mooneys didn’t have them... The SB for models without the button lock block on how to add the revised block: https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/4147179/technical_documents/service_bulletins/sbm20-88b.pdf FYI preloads in that SB are wrong. This SI corrects those: https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/4147179/technical_documents/service_instructions/sim20-32.pdf Edit: David was quick! -Don

Panel is Done! Simple and clean. Co-pilot headphone jacks are right where you want them. The USB charger is left and above the jacks. As you can see, very clean look. We added an Avionics master switch and circuit breakers for each new avionics -- you'll see those on the right side: Avionics install by Edge Aviation in Commerce Texas (yes, the do know about Mooneys!): I'll get a better pic later -- was out of the plane when I took this one. IFD440 and AV30-C will be upgrades in the future. Looks like I'll have room for the IFD for sure: Did gear retraction a few times while I was there. Got a good shot of the Down Lock Block -- yeah, it needs to be replaced for sure: Annual has gone well and is almost done -- needed 2 new main tires -- got those done. They did find a surprise though: Rat's nest with a dead rat -- They gave me enough graphic detail so I'm glad no pics. This plane was in a hanger @ Caddo Mills where the fields were real close. Its now in the main hanger were they do the unmanned drones so, less likely but, I know how they got in and where to look. Until I get a hanger where its not out in the boonies, I'll check this very often for sure. Luckily, no 'damage' from the usual stuff. Gonna look for a CorrosionX treatment next. For a plane that is really 60 years old (built in 1960) very clean. There will be some items we'll address as time goes on (mags when they get near 500 hrs, that kind of thing). Overall, not bad for this old of a plane. I should be able to get it next week and do a maintenance flight before getting her back to Caddo. I have a habit of doing a flight local to the AP shop (pattern work, etc.) just to make sure nothing is amiss before I head out. I usually get a hanger near my AP but, not this time so its going to be a safety flight then, ground check afterwards to make sure before going back. With all this CorVid 19 going on, wonder if the insurance co's will be able to re-coop $ since 'less' is going on in the Aviation world -- may make a difference in premiums. -Don

Question about the Positive Control System

Yep, and it’s a positive click too... The TC has the adjustable level so it’s not bad for a simple design... -Don -

My PC wing leveler was added in my B later. I like the fact it is always off and I can pull the switch when I need it (A/Pilot). -Don -

Johnson bar or electric gear? Makes a difference. Mooneys up to an F will do. I have a B took my training in an F rental at Fort Worth Meachem here in Texas. Zulu Aviation and Michael is a great instructor. Zulu Aviation has a thread on here on general discussion. -Don -
Got mine Friday, finished today. Great collection... -Don

For me, I’ve always had a portable radio with VOR capabilities, 3 batteries and a battery pack with 4 triple As, Remote antenna for portable radio, and cellphone. Now, I have iPad Pro 12", iPad mini, stratux with 2 battery packs, 2 battery packs for cellphone and iPads. Plane now has 2 coms, and EGSi transponder with ADSB in/out. AV30c will be next, engine monitor after that. I’ll want the do an IDF 440 later. -Don
