    One question is - did they have a notam about LAHSO? If not, don’t stop. Also, he was not given a LAHSO instruction by the tower - that he could of said unable if given so, don’t stop… Also, the tower could have said turn left on RWY xxx if able so, they are not absolve either. -Don

    I did an hour flight at altitude for over an hour to break in my cylinder after annual - A&P said to keep it in the pattern. I like to do that after any maintenance… -Don

    Over interpretation and overstepping the original question on remote supervision… BTW, Drs do remote operations - of course not to supervise unlicensed docs - I don’t think? ;o) -Don

    The bigger issue was the part where unlicensed mechanic had to have supervision and that supervisor had to watch ‘and take over immediately’ if something was being done wrong. That super had to be watching the whole time in case of error… That was the bigger takeaway… -Don

    Maybe send the cylinder for IRAN to a cylinder shop - they can scope out the cylinder, make sure everything is in good shape, do the honing/rings/new piston/pin and pin plugs if need be. They could check the bore at the same time. Break it in with mineral oil or something like Phillips X-country 20w50 — BTW what oil did you use for break-in — just curious… -Don

    Feel the same was — they even note it can go to 3rd parties. Thus the free month - you were compensated and gave the the rights for them to sell… -Don

    The Avionics shop is aware of the new design and if needed, we’ll do the field approval/337 - he’s an IA also, works/builds experimentals so hopefully by the time I order, I have both options covered and the unit is good to go either way… -Don

    Ok talked to my Avionics shop - earliest is April of next year for install. Duncan and I discussed options and suggested I order in around early February - giving time for the updated STC and changes to the install kit to be completed. I’ll look to order end of January to first week of February. That gives me some time as I didn’t want the warranty period to start too soon. Excited but wish I could have installed this soon but that is the breaks… -Don

    Duncan said I can order and get it. My avionics shop said they can get it also. I may wait a bit to see if the new STC gets done first. Once I pull the trigger, I’l let everyone know… -Don
