  1. was a great movie. only mistake i found in the movie was that the king air c90's they used were using garmin g500's and gtn 750's, which in the 1980's I believe didn't exist. LOL Great movie anyway.
  2. I think it really depends on the angle of impact. If you flare hard enough, itll probably bend forward. if not, probably backwards. I doubt the prop was spinning on that aircraft. only one blade looks damaged and the prop was probably vertical during impact, causing one blade to hit, and if it was spinning, it would have probably been damaged way worse than that.
  3. That acclaim is located on my field, and used to be parked right next to my set of rentals. It is truly a beautiful aircraft. as for the useful load, that will probably be an amazing 2 person cross country bird. considering empty weight includes the Tks fluid, and youll only need half of it you already increase your useful load load to approx 860lbs. remove 400lbs for you, your wife, and luggage. and you're left with 460lbs. 460/6 = 76.7 gals these numbers are unlikely to be accurate, but say you get 200 ktas at 17 gph, you can fly a bit more than 4 hours, which not a lot of people are willing to do. also as multiple people have stated, ovations, eagles and acclaims seem to be on quite a shortage as of now.
  4. who ever ends up buying that will have an awesome trip bringing it back.
  5. Over the last 2 months, I've been looking throughout multiple Ovations and Eagles, and each and everyone of them seems to have at least 2 cylinders in the mid 60s and some times even in the high 50's. Now I'm no mechanic, so I don't know if my gut is telling me the right thing, but I feel that the engines should be in the mid, if not high 70s. Am I overthinking this, Or are engines that have these compression still a good option. I understand that I should always be prepared for an overhaul, but I would like to stay away from the overhaul as long as possible ( i have 50,000 reason why). Additionally, anyone know where to find 95-03 ovations and Eagles. Controller, Trade a plane, ASO, MAPA, Mooneyspace, and strategicaircraft dont seem to have any aircraft for sale within a 170k budget where the engine seems to have decent compression.
  6. I think the opposite of it. I understand that they were completely merciless, but the amount they were able to create and actually use just facinates me. The technology they were able to invent was amazing imo. But im not a fan of the way they used it.
  7. I believe theyre worth around 6 to 7 million as of now.
  8. Probably the longer you keep it, the more valueable itll become.
  9. how long does it usually take you to get from o69 to ksna
  10. That is true. I dont know bobs E so i cant comment but im just stating that this is another very nice E. And a flying plane will always be better than a sitting one.
  11. id have to say he has a pretty good competition for the top E. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/21352509/1966-mooney-m20e-super-21 Pity the market for people willing to spend 160K on an E is so small. I do believe it is worth every penny though.
  12. I would not sell that if I were you. That is a piece of History. A piece of first generation High tech Warbird (high tech for its time). As MB65E said, Its priceless.
  13. Did you end up picking it up?
  14. It looms like that ovation is everything but sold. Whoever is going to own that plane is going to be a very happy camper. That is a hell of an ovation for the price. -Nik-
  15. How do the aspens compare to a g500 txi?
  16. It does have the top prop and the 310 STC. I like the panel too. Aspen 1000 and a GNS 530/430 is def a pro for me. I personally didn't want AC, FIKI, or O2 as it would be something I would rarely use and I would value the increase in useful load more, but the useful load is good enough for my mission so i can't complain. -Nik-
  17. I'll be doing my IFR ticket in this. I plan to do long XC trips. currently in Orange county, and plan to go to Canada at least twice a year. Travel in general with 2 - 4 people, and log hours.
  18. I'm really looking at this 97 Ovation, and so far am really liking it. I'm just curious if theres anything you see that would make you steer clear of this? I already asked for the logs, and am currently waiting. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/22934371/1997-mooney-m20r-ovation -Nik-
  19. I was thinking about 140k. Theres a nice 97 ovation granted with a higher time engine, but with 310hp, a nice panel, and air conditioning, and i think its a better for my mission for the same as the eagle. -Nik-
  20. Im not saying its not going to make it to tbo, but the chances are alot lower making it to tbo if youve only flown on average 25 hours per year.
  21. This is true. But i talked to the mech, and he told me the engine could need a top overhaulin as low aa 200hous
  22. http://buyaircrafts.com/2017/07/28/1999-mooney-m20s-eagle2-for-sale/ I was looking at this previously. This was the only screaming eagle on the market. I took my eyes off this as the engone time was low and it didnt seem to be flown alot as it had 500 hours since ttsn. It does have the stc for 280hp, but the avionics are pretty old and basic, so i thought it was a tad bit overpriced.
  23. the one in my thread he already found. I currently have found an eagle. Looking through the logs as of right now and everything looks good. as of these 2, there are no othre eagles to be found. there are 3 nice early ovations on controller. one for as low as 140.
  24. They will, but I'd recommend learning how to take apart a bike. as in take the forks off. its super easy once you do it a couple times.
  25. May i ask why? I was looking at this eagle and another one. Was there anything bad on this eagle? P.S. i dont know if this is considered rude to ask, so if any of you find this question offensive ill take it down.
