  1. If you want to get Anthony, it needs to look like @carusoam
  2. I guess maybe Bob Kromer was a chicken, but he said "never again".
  3. I learned something new this morning. Thanks!
  4. @gsxrpilot was last here almost a year ago.
  5. Do whatever necessary to keep all cylinders below 400. If you don’t know the temperatures of all cylinders, get an engine monitor. If cylinder temperatures are too high, slow down, open cowl flaps (partially, if that’s an option), enrichen mixture, or any combination that keeps all cylinders below 400. You will find that your favorite combination of manifold pressure, RPM, and mixture on one day doesn’t work the next day — it’s a dance.
  6. Get a stopwatch and see how long you can hold your breath.
  7. ^^^somebody needs to do this^^^ After the installer gets done, and everything works, is not the time to discover you lost something.
  8. Oxygen? Long glide not helpful.
  9. Sounds like you use the pair for cross-check.
  10. He would not do it again because if something goes TU safety is far, far away.
  11. Nicer than OEM!
  12. I suspect they were test flown with a second pilot who climbed into the baggage compartment after takeoff.
  13. Oops, I read that wrong on the first pass.
  14. Is that to replace factory, or something cooler? If cooler, I’d like to see what that looks like.
  15. That’s how Mooney got the 231 and 252. Marketing told the test pilot “we are going to call it the 252” and he had to go up to 28,000 to get it done. He said he would never do it again.
  16. I’m sure others will say “I do it all the time” but that would be a no go for me.
  17. And the fun just keeps coming!
  18. And I assume the top-end 900 also gives FF?
  19. Also says the speed brakes were removed, but nothing in the weight change column, and no revision of the empty weight? I must be missing something.
  20. For the OP, this is true when upgrading from gen 5 to gen 6 of the mini. gen 4 and gen 5 form factor are identical.
  21. That's a lot of electrical problems in a short time. I see that you are new to MooneySpace (Welcome!), and I'm wondering if you are new to this airplane as well. You may not know, and may not be able to discern from the logs, but I wonder if this airplane has been exposed to an environment that could attack a lot of electrical connections at once?
  22. I'd say check after some number of hours, but you may fly more consistently than i do.
  23. I only quoted your last sentence, but your entire post is on the mark. I looked at dozens of airplanes online, flew to 4 of them for a better look, and finally bought the fifth. This took many months. But the fact is, you have to know precisely what you want, what you will settle for, and what you can pay. Also, I will second what you said about having the money in escrow so you can electronically sign documents, and move the money in minutes — not days or hours.
  24. It’s my understanding that they can be different lengths. Good idea to make sure they go back into the hole they came from. If you have lost one, you may need to bracket the “average” length by buying 3 or 5 different lengths.
