  1. Just FYI, I’m pretty sure that is a mandatory reportable event. If you haven’t already, you need to. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/49/830.5
  2. That worked on my C model. @Eric J weighed mine. Nose tire flat, a couple ~3/4" boards under the mains, and it was level.
  3. At least they didn't hook up your generator cooling port to your carb heat discharge like someone did on mine.
  4. Well dang, that saves a drive to Tucson!
  5. My plane doesn’t have a key. For the door locks, yes. But the ignition is pushbutton
  6. This is an ongoing concern with finewires. Seems they just can't get it right.
  7. And it's only supposed to top out at 25c next Sunday! Talk about a swing!
  8. My wife and I plan on being there. We were just there yesterday. Thought we'd get out of the Phoenix heat. We were mostly wrong. . It was 100 there. Not as bad as 115 but pretty warm by Catalina standards. The runway is much improved, though still awful bumpy. Be aware, you will be parking in dirt/gravel. Bring your tow bar, you'll want to shut down on the pavement and then push back into the dirt, reverse when you leave. You don't want to start up in the dirt. The bees were out of control on the whole island. It's 2020. Everything is worse. They are "friendly" bees at least. Not aggressive in any way. The restaurant is running full steam ahead, only outside tables, and seating is somewhat limited. If you can bring a camp chair, it might not be a bad idea. Be sure to visit the unicom "tower" to pay your landing fee. $35 cash or card, exact change preferred. Masks are required inside the restaurant, but you can take them off outside and/or when eating.
  9. It's not that difficult. I did it every annual on my C. It just takes effort.
  10. We were taking it apart and kept looking at things. Couldn't see anything amiss. In fact, it looked basically perfect. Split the case and looked at the bearings, cam, lifters, etc. All really really nice. Lifted out the crank. Checked all it's surfaces. Perfect. Looked at that bearing half and "aha!". Might I add it was ridiculously hot at 2pm flying back across PHX. I told Rich I was considering heading east out of chandler just to climb to 15k for some cool air.
  11. Covered! Thanks fellas!
  12. That's more than a teaspoon.
  13. If there's any microbiologists that would awesome lol. My daughter is in her first year of college, and for one of her papers, she needs to interview someone in the medical field. She's studying microbiology, but she can interview anyone in the field. If you are in that group, and can spare some time to speak with her, it would be much appreciated.
  14. I have a music 2 input jack in the back seat. I’ll plug something into that and experiment before I muss with wires.
  15. I'll try that. Thats a pretty simple thing to do
  16. It doesn't bother me so much, except in "busy" areas. You'll be on flight following and atc is talking to 30 airliners. Every other word is muted on the music. It's irritating lol
  17. I don't. I could figure it out probably. Theres a switch for ICS mute (mutes music when passengers talk). That works. But still mutes when ATC talks
  18. Yeah, it says that, but it's not true. It completely mutes it
  19. Currently have a GMA340. I have a GDL69A with Siriusxm audio controlled by a G500. In its current configuration, the xm audio is sorta worthless. Every time ATC talks, the music completely mutes. In comparison, if I send Bluetooth music to my light speed headset, the music just attenuates, but it’s still there. what audio panel can I install that will allow me to attenuate the music instead of muting it? And will there be wiring changes needed or just slide in a PMA450B or a GMA345? I’ve played with a 345, but I have no idea of it will do what I want. Or the 450B for that matter. The 345 is considerably less expensive, but if it doesn’t “fix” my issue....
  20. Know anybody with a 3D printer?
  21. I'll get set up to fill my own, but for now I'm stuck paying. When I asked and they said $55, I jumped on it lol
  22. I just got my 78cuft tank filled for $55 at north Las Vegas. Not the best deal, but didn’t seem terrible for them to go out to the plane to do it on the ramp in 110 degree weather.
  23. Well, as is often the case, the problem wasn't the hardware. It was the software. And by software, I mean my dumb ass. I called garmin, went through everything, they decided it must be a corrupt data card. So they had me take the cards home, format them and manually load the databases. Did that. Went back to the Hangar. Put them in. GTN works fine, G500 still didn't work. I was pulling my hair out. I was flipping through aux pages on the G500 and saw the system ID. It was at that point I realized what the problem was. When I set up my account, I entered the serial number for the G500. Not the system ID. Doh. It wouldn't authorize because the DB cards were looking for the wrong system ID. Called garmin again this morning and they got me squared away. Everything is now operational!!
  24. That's what I'll do. It looks like I have all the correct databases in my account.
