  1. This just happened this weekend. Wife surprised me with a private flight with the crew of FIFI after the Wings Over Dallas airshow for my birthday. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Crawling through the crew tube over the bomb bay to get to the rear guns was sombering. Can't image those guys trying to deliver payloads on target while getting peppered by flak and torn through by enemy fighters. Helped clean off the gallons of oil that leak from each engine after the flight as well.
  2. Your doing it all wrong. The wink after negates the /s. It's like a double negative. Don't you people twitter?? View of the runway from my garage. Steel gets here the 11th and the erecting process starts the same day. Counting on it to be the best erection of my life!
  3. I'm not sure what age group you identify with, and perhaps you already know, but /S is a symbol to imply sarcasim on many internet spaces. It's sometimes needed as the senders intent/text does not read the same when the receiver reads it. I hope I didn't offend you, I was only making a lighthearted joke among friends on mooneyspace. Whichever side of the debate you fall on is fine with me I have no skin in the game, and have learned lots from the questions you've asked. For what it's worth, I don't know you but I would lend you a screw and a hand if you broke down in my area.
  4. Wait --- isn't it the instructors job to bring his own shoulder restrains?? I shouldn't have to pay for your equipment. /S
  5. Have been interested in the questions you have posted and the answers Parker gave. Out of personal curiosity, and as a CFI, how many instructors have you found that fit your requirement set of not being on your insurance? Of those you have found, how much higher have their rates been usually? Are you verifing they have these extra coverages, or just chocking it up to their problem to ensure they are covered? I keep thinking about the crews I had come quote trees to cut down in my yard. There a ton of tree guys out there and a lot of them are doing it with no insurance. If I chock it up as their problem not mine, then I am only shooting myself in the foot when the defecation hits the oscillation, regardless if they are a close friend or random Craigslist contractor.
  6. Thanks for posting. Can you turn off all your filters and color boosting when you post the future pics? I would like to see them without the instagram filters applied.
  7. "Found it" as in they didnt know they even had it? Thats awesome.
  8. I dont believe it is possible to ever fully shut of the flow of air through those ducts
  9. Thought I would share this. The purple grids are NOTAMS for drone operations in the DFW area. Most are around 400ft and below. Big one to the south is surface to 11, 000 feet and the one to the west is surface to 3,500 feet.
  10. Also the black dots are storm cell projected paths at 20 min increments. 0, 20, 40, 60 min
  11. I don't have access to it at the moment. If memory serves it was around 1430 local
  12. So I had our ATC guy use his Flight Radar 24 account to track your flight. The paid version gives you access to historical data that the free version does not. We tracked your flight the whole way until just around LUX. Thats when a chunk of missing data starts, and it does not resume until after BUBBA. Very interesting...
  13. Look up your atc convo on liveatc.net and get the tail number.
  14. Just chiming in to say this is not outside UAV guidelines. Is true for certain Part 107 ops, but not for other operations. This is just the tip of the iceberg
  15. Can you speak to the cost of either of those?
  16. @dcrogers11 Would love to see what you end up doing in person, or even lend a hand if you need it. I am a short flight over at T56 and am going to have my hanger built by the end of November. I am also weighing my options on floor coverings and am excited to see what you end up with.
  17. Not sure how I missed this one. I am just over at T56 and love making the Hard 8 run.
  18. Can you link where you bought your snaps?
  19. Foreflight also has a descent to destination datablock at the bottom that you can select to display in the same way you do groundspeed, ETA, etc. If you want a constant 500 fpm descent to destination just wait until the number tick up to 500 then begin ur descent. If you begin descending faster the numbers decrease and vise versa. I find it helpful.
  20. tell him you will put it in the mail tomorrow and it should bet there in 3-5 business days. Sit big and enjoy the thought of him walking to his mailbox eagerly every day expecting beer money only to find papa john coupons and credit card offers.
  21. idk, with the way this post is progressing, @irishpilot looks to have had a good gut intuition about this one. I would take his advise not as assumptions and guesses, but as personal experience and lessons learned. No reason to take it as more or less than that. What happened to him might not happen to everyone, but I can guarantee based on my luck it would happen to me. His opinion to run is just as valid as someone who has had good luck with these things opinion to keep pursuing it as a great deal.
  22. Anyone have a picture of said snaps? Curious as to how they are installed.
  23. That is one thing I do hate. It always confuses me if the plan I just loaded is on top or bottom to activate. Not many complaints about my 440, but that is one
  24. @Brian E. Thank you Soo much!!! Higher Power had their drawing today. I won half off my door for ordering at Oshkosh!! I am so stoked!
  25. I should have, but I wasn't sure if you were going or not. Some friendly folks on here helped me out. I went with higher power. My neighbor has one and I was really impressed. Requires no structural reinforcement and was cheaper than the bifold schwiss doors I was quoted. Only negative is the 18-24 week lead time. They said business is booming. Check our their website, their lift systems is pretty neat. Got 5% off on purchase price and a free accessory (remote open). I can forward my quote if ur interested
