I don't know the Chinese "ever-emerging" GA market. What you state seems plausible to me. If there is no market in China for the M10 then indeed, why build it? Perhaps an expensive exercise to design/engineer/build/test with much fanfare and say "psyche" just showing we could. Agree that the chute is huge marketing advantage for Cirrus as well as their cabin design. There is a glut of used airframes with no pilots in US to fill demand. There are stagnant wages and shrinking not growing upper middle class that would be a potential market. Diesel is not the answer for power plants with abundant reasonable fuel prices in U.S. The U.S. Has so much invested in infrastructure to support GA. It is a shame that the price of entry to pursue piloting an aircraft is so high. I have no answers and agree that "Where Mooney Goes next" is what really matters. They can not likely afford another M-10 or pressurized money sucking drain with no sales at end of tunnel. Will somebody make a damn battery that is lighter and stronger already? GA and the world are waiting...Git 'r done.

What a great Easter. Kel and I got out to airport at about 10:00AM and loaded up for a short .7 flight to our home town in SW Wisconsin. I had just changed the oil and added Camguard. Is it me or does that first flight on new oil always feel a little smoother? New pilot iPad mini-yoke mount, CO monitor and seat pan cushions were awesome! Uneventful flight with an alert of traffic, while in CID airspace, allowing a Cessna down below to be observed crossing our route. Once past Kel was twisted around to observe. I said "Honey, that's a Cessna. We are in a Mooney. We don't have to worry about them once they are behind us". Called our son and he was a town away. He picked us up right as we got to tie down. Perfect timing. A great Ham Easter meal followed by girls going for a walk and guys going to the family farm for some plinking. A nice Zenith (HK MP5 clone with brace and red dot) along with a 100 rounds and two flying coffee cans made for some fun. Quicker flight home at 4500 (144 knots) at 50 LOP saw .5 on tach. Winds were at 330 14 knots. 27 had a little crab and a turn out for back taxi on 31 to hanger. Stored the bike (ST1300) for winter in hanger and got a nice ride home with only shorts and a wind shirt. I love GA and I love my Mooney.

Just not at all "excited". Pleased if Mooney succeeds, but they already made my perfect airplane-201 with removeable/fold down rear seats. If I were to buy another plane, and I am not, as I love my plane for my empty nester mission...It would be a 201 that I would panel/interior/paint the way I want it. $150k would get that done. Three quarters of a million dollars for a new Mooney is just goofy to me. Even if I could, I wouldn't. I liked the concept of the M10 and thought a trainer in China trickling back into US as a trainer would be "Good for Mooney". The reasons for ceasing production beyond proof of concept are shrouded in mystery. We shall see. I doubt China will let Mooney go under. That said there is a little history with the Mooney brand and Chapter 11. A Lynx for ADSB compliance, Sabre Cowl Mod and Paint would be my "wants" for "Mooney-talk". I will let the rude late model blowhards get excited about latest and greatest from Kerrville.
