  1. Whew Looks like OP updated it.
  2. They made an F model in 1994?
  3. I had a lot of trouble with massives fouling on the ground, and I always lean as aggressively as possible. I switched to fine wires and haven’t had a single failed run-up due to a fouled plug since then. Whether I could have switched to the BY plugs or done something else, I don’t know. But in my case, the fine wires have been awesome. And I’m a card-carrying CB.
  4. That sounds like a standard flooded start procedure.
  5. If I know what FBO I'm likely to visit, I always email ahead with a copy of the service letter, and ask them to acknowledge that the line staff have been made aware of the restrictions. Whether this will actually prevent damage, I don't know, but I do like having a paper trail. Also not a bad idea to snap a picture of your nose gear when you leave the plane - to avoid any later suggestion that the truss damage was already present when you arrived. 6. Wow, that is very cool.
  7. I'm all for spending money to get better value, but I've seen lots of critical comments about Kelly here on MS over the years. Sounds like you had a good experience with them?
  8. Seems like the price leader for dual mags. Interested to hear anyone's experience. http://crossfiremagneto.com/Crossfire_Magneto_Service/Welcome.html
  9. Yep, they're now certified to PMA the housing and all components, but not (yet) to make brand new dual mags.
  10. My D3000 is in about the same spot, just under 50 hours and will need an IRAN soon. I've gotten pretty gunshy about all of the big-shop options, because reviews (QAA, Kelly) seem mixed. I've been strongly considering sending my mags to flyguydon, who comes strongly recommended on the Piper Forum. Select Aircraft Services in Lancaster was the previous top recommendation on MS, but they're out of the Bendix business. And the newer MS recommendation, Aircraft Ignition Services, now says on their website that they will not accept any dual mags for inspection or overhaul. So that leaves Kelly and QAA, and I'm very strongly considering using neither. If anyone on MS has a pirep for flyguydon, I'd be very interested to hear. But he's the guy I'm thinking about using.
  11. Aviation Oil Outlet is $64 and change, and they bring it to my front door
  12. Yep, exactly. They don’t have the lowest price per case, but if shipping is zero dollars, they beat everyone else.
  13. This place has the best deal I’ve been able to find. Free shipping at $75, and I just order a few cases at a time. They’re very fast and have great service. https://aviationoiloutlet.com/
  14. They have these spec tables on the products page. I can't read any of this, but the flow rate stuff seems related?
  15. Had a 430W screen that essentially died. It happened over a short period of a few weeks (screen degrading, lots of lines and missing pixels) where it was still usable, and then all at once (couldn't read anything at all on the screen). Sent it off for a Garmin fixed-price refresh.
  16. Well - the Garmin Pilot option has always been a very nice-to-have thing in the event of an LCD failure. If EIS is working, but you can't see your engine gauges because the display is broken, having a second display (especially one that comes for free with Garmin Pilot) is helpful. This is especially true where you're displaying EIS on your single MFD screen (e.g., a G3X touch display that's doing EIS+PFD+MFD).
  17. On the 760 vs iPad inflight question.. I have limited experience with the 760, but my understanding is that it cannot display real-time EIS data like Garmin Pilot can display on an iPad. This seems like an obvious use case for the 760, and a strange oversight for the 760 software - maybe it's a planned future enhancement? (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about EIS on the 760..)
  18. The Inogen home page has a note that says it has been tested to 18k. https://www.inogenaviator.com/
  19. Unfortunately there’s a small number of underwriters, and if they’ve turned you down via one broker, they’ll likely turn you down via the next. Avemco is always the backstop. I’m surprised that the UFOs haven’t gotten more involved on the advocacy side of this, but they seem to lean on AOPA for help. https://www.ufopilots.org/post/aircraft-insurance-issues
  20. For what it’s worth, I’ve had good experience with an 80+ named insured on Global Aero. But that was for a fixed gear single, and I suspect that they’re tougher on retracts.
  21. Best bet is to talk to a broker who could shop it around. @Parker_Woodruff will hook you up.
  22. Inogen does have a new product (the Inogen Aviator G5) that is apparently tested to 18k, in "single or dual" mode. I have no experience with this, so no idea how well it actually works at 18k with two people, but fwiw.. https://www.inogenaviator.com/products (Note this is a newer unit than the one that Aviation Consumer tested.)
  23. It’s a flow. It’s by rote, and honestly it would take far more effort to do it differently each time than to do it the same way each time.
