Yours looks like it had a separate navigation and strobe light? There have been several iterations with this wingtip to include Hoskins, Grimes, and Whelen lights. Many different light configurations. As pictured previously, a WAT Orion 650E is a direct fit and shouldnt require drilling any new holes.

Yes the Orion 650E is a direct replacement for that. I have them in stock and I can ship them where every you like.

They are pressed in with the handle plumber just like your existing steel washer. The metal washer is wearing down your plunger every time you open and close it so someday it will not sit flat. This will prevent that from happening, amongst other things previously described here in this thread.

I carry these Marsh Brothers fuel cap washers and I use them on my Bonanza. They are flippin miracle workers.

One big reason why there may be no STC for your particular type aircraft is because Whelen used existing STCs to get the LED lights certified. If the aircraft came with Whelen lights as OEM equipment then there was no STC to piggy back off. Rest assured they are all FAA TSO approved as an anti-collision and night position light. The proper pathway to modifying the aircraft is through a minor alteration with a logbook entry. No 337 and no IA sign off.

I think we will introduce this at Oshkosh but it won't be ready to walk away with. I've seen the prototype and worked with a Mooney owner to fit check it. They had to make some adjustments with the design but are moving out with it. So soon thereafter Oshkosh. @Igor_U I'm skeptical that they can get you that cowling kit but if you are really interested in it, I can find out if WAT is still manufacturing it. WAT is the merger between Lopresti and Whelen in 2019/2020.

I'm glad I can help. The fuel cap o-ring kits are my first love and my first product. They are such a good value for what they deliver - peace of mind. N11GG was on the ramp in Memphis about 10 days ago and overnight they got monsoon storms. My o-rings are coming up on 6 years old and there was not a drop of water in the fuel tanks. Amazing!
