OSUAV8TER replied to OSUAV8TER's topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
I have a nice inventory of the G3 PAR-36 LED taxi and landing lights in stock with more on the way. These lamps will fit a wide variety of Mooney aircraft too. Orders over $500 ship free and there is no sales tax (within the United States). I can ship internationally but additional shipping and export/import duties may be required. This is the best selling WAT product I have available. https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html <-- Order the G3 here. gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com <-- Email me 1-833-425-5288 <-- Call me here -

You are welcome. The G3 comes as a taxi or a landing light in the PAR-36 size. They will probably release a PAR-46 size but I have no knowledge of when that will be. -

The G3 is not available in the PAR-46 size. I have the Parmetheus Plus and the Parmetheus Pro in the PAR-46 size. All in stock and ready to ship. -

I have an excellent inventory of the new G3 LED taxi and landing lights. They are only in the PAR-36 size (4.5" diameter), which fits most Beech aircraft. If you have previous generation Whelen Parmetheus or older LED lamps, you will notice an incredible difference between the G3 and them. https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html <-- Check out the G3 here gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com <-- Email or PM me 1-833-425-5288 <-- Call me -
Same here, I just installed SwitcheOn by the bifold door and ran the remote antenna through the hinge area to the roof. I took a ladder out to the airport to get the antenna on the roof where it happily resides to this day 2 years after installing it.

Www.gallagheraviationllc.com/switcheon Get the 2 channel 15 amp device with the remote antenna. It has a magnetic base and snake the cable through your hangar door. If it doesnt work, I’ll give you your money back.

I have more SwitcheOn models in stock with more arriving today. This is one of the most popular products I have available and they are tough to keep on the shelf! https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/switcheon.html <-- Order here 1-833-425-5288 <-- Call me here gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com <-- Email me here

Whatever you choose to do, I'd leave it on for most of the flight for day and nighttime VFR recognition.
-
If it is in good shape you can probably sell it for $200-$250. The PAR-46 isn't as widely used as the PAR-36 so it might take longer to sell.
-
So the G3 does not come in a PAR-46 size, you'd have to go with the Pro, which is what philip_g picked up for his plane.
-
The G3 is a much better lamp than the Plus and I recommend it over the Plus if you fly a bit at night. Actually for the price, just go with the G3. How are your lights situated on your M20J? In the nose side by side? @haymak3r

If you missed it at Oshkosh, Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) announced and released their new Parmetheus G3 PAR-36 (4.5" diameter) landing and taxi lights. At Oshkosh everyone sold out of their stock of G3s because they were so popular. I got to play with these a little bit prior to the release and they are incredible lights for the money. Incomparable I'd say. They are 2.5 times brighter then the PAR-36 Parmetheus Plus series LED landing and taxi lights boasting close to 140,000 candela power for the landing light. They are even brighter than the WAT Parmetheus Pro. If you're looking for landing and taxi light upgrade, this is it. The G3 is compatible with both 14V and 28V electrical systems. I have them in stock and ready to go and they are $289 a lamp. Some photos below compare the G3 taxi to the Parmetheus Plus LED taxi light. Additionally, WAT took a drone over a runway and compared the G3 to the $650 AeroLED Sunspot landing light. https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html <-- Order the G3 off my website 1-833-425-5288 <-- Call me here gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com <-- Email me here G3 Taxi Light Parmetheus Plus taxi light Piper Archer outfitted with G3 landing lights on the wingtips and a taxi light on the nose Piper Archer with incandescent lights Same Archer with G3 landing and taxi lights Aerial view of the G3 versus the AeroLED Sunspot G3 taxi light on the nose of this Cessna 310 with dual PAR-46 Parmetheus Pros on the wings.

Yup - you got it. The theory is that airflow on the lamp will help cool it and thus will greatly reduce the amount of power loss due to thermal management. In a static environment the Pro does an excellent job with thermal management. The G3 is okay. The AeroLED Sunspot is atrocious. AeroLED counts on movement of the aircraft to help cool it. I believe there is a balance - you need a good heat sink on the back of the lamp. That is just LED 101 because they do generate a ton of heat. The PAR-36 Pro is $499.99 PAR-36 G3 is $289 I still recommend the G3 over the Pro all day. For the money, these trade offs are worth it.
-
The camera settings are the exact same. It was set to manual so same shutter, aperature, ISO, and white balance. I did do a little post production adjustment to color because the Pro and G3 have different light temperature.
-
-
The Pro only comes in a landing light version but the G3 has a landing and taxi light version. Here is the G3 taxi in the same mounting rack.
-
The Pro is still an exceptional light but it was originally designed with the intended use on turbine aircraft. The G3's target audience is GA. Here is a photo comparing the G3 versus the Pro in a static environment outside of my hangar.
-
Yes if your lights are side by side in the nose. The G3 only comes in the PAR-36 size (4.5" diameter). I have them in stock for $289 a lamp. Orders over $500 ship free and no sales tax. The G3 is an exceptional light for the money. If you have the older Parmetheus or really any other model it is a worthy upgrade. If you currently have an AeroLED Sunspot or the WAT Parmetheus Pro, I'd keep that. https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html < -- website gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com <-- Email me 1-833-425-5288 <-- Call me for questions or phone orders. https://ww

FS: Marsh Brothers AeroTough Fuel Cap Washers $75-187
OSUAV8TER replied to OSUAV8TER's topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
Feedback from an Aerostar owner. "I have these on the Aerostar. They seem expensive for washers, but it's hard to convey how much difference they make. The caps went from difficult to use, even when recently lubricated, to buttery smooth. One of the biggest "bang for the buck and effort" things you can do for your airplane." -
Gallagher Aviation is proud to announce that we now carry the Marsh Brothers AeroTough® Grease Free (GF) Fuel Cap Washers for your flush mounted Shaw 416, 516, 431, and 531 type fuel caps (they work on all models). As our fuel caps age, the metal washer on our fuel caps wear out the plunger by rounding it down, which prevents it to close flush like they were originally designed to do. With the M&A of Shaw Aerospace by Parker Hannifin support for these fuel caps has generally vanished unless you can find new old stock fuel caps or are willing to pay a hefty fee for a few cap to be manufactured. The Marsh Brothers blue washer is an excellent solution to fixing these problems. Prior to stocking this product, I got a taste of them for N11GG and I am impressed! A couple of my Shaw 416 fuel cap plungers were stiff and would also not stay flush. Problem solved. These washers help make opening and closing much easier and will ensure your fuel cap remains safe and functional. They are made from a durable thermoplastic polymer that has inherent self-lubricating properties. They rejuvenate your Shaw fuel cap with smooth operation of the locking tab/plunger, provide a consistent open/close force, and have a long wear life. These are FAA approved. Add in my blue fluorosilicone fuel cap kits for your fuel caps and you will be sitting pretty well! P/N M-00-1000-1 - (One washer) - $75 P/N M-00-1000-2 - (two washers) - $116 P/N M-00-1000-3 - (three washers) - $154 P/N M-00-1000-4 - (four washers) - $187 Shipping via USPS Priority mail is $10. No not yet. WAT last told me Q2 of this year. I'll put you on my list!

It could be improper grounding. If the lights are grounded to the airframe and not the battery or electrical bus, it can cause noise attenuation through the airframe. If you want to install LED lights the Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) Orion 650E for the wing and the Orion 500 for the tail are direct replacements. When you do any kind of LED light install you need to remove the strobe power supply because it will blow out the LED strobe lights. Remove the power supply, tie the wiring together to ensure strobe power continuity, and wire the LED lamp to existing wiring. You should not have to run new wire unless your ground wire is not done correctly. I mean, it can be done that way but it should be grounded as previously recommended.
