  1. What is the IP address for the Pi2? i remember seeing the browser based configuration panel address, but can't find it now. Found it. http://192.168.10.1
  2. I did the same thing. You can get actual leather bar wrap or synthetic stiff that wraps a little better. This one isn't too stretchy, which shows on the right hand thumb, but a more stretchy quality For tennis racquets will wrap over the top nicely. I just liked the brown leathery look. Excuse the cobbley placards... I was in process working on my new panel, but the cool thing is it only takes about 10 minutes and if you want to change colors or quality or they get dirty, it's cheap and easy to replace.
  3. You're really doing a great deed to society by returning that bird to its former glory! Keep it up and don't add up the costs!
  4. Thanks for edumacating me about the correct thread sealer guys
  5. Thanks. I'll get the updated firmware. I knew it wouldn't be long before updates were made since there was so much interest. I bet before too long, they will find the addon hardware and get ahrs working.
  6. Has there been a firmware update in the past month? I understood just weather was working with current firmware
  7. I believe you need the steel fittings to install the oil pressure sender. Also, let your mechanic put some Teflon or something on the threads to keep a good seal. Mine kept leaking at the fittings.
  8. I have a 64but windows7 system and had no problem installing and running. However, the interface is rather doo doo. So I use the savvy analysis website.
  9. Congratulations on a safe landing on the runway. I'm glad we didn't have to read another mooney down story. We look forward to learning what went wrong!
  10. Hey guys. Thank you for the help. I found what I needed.
  11. Yea, just realized I would have to do something about the bus bar. I may try to find a used one that fits without changing anything. Thanks guys
  12. $20 version sounds good. Haha. Will look for those. . Thanks!
  13. the brittle plastic on mine broke and wondering if anyone has an extra like this?
  14. i have an old KI-201B CDI and wondering if the plug is the same as on any other newer king CDIs. Haven't seen any, but just wondering if anyone knows.
  15. Quick poll. Is this trash or favorable?
  16. I used double sided tape to attach the antenna to the aft most plastic panel on the headliner in the center above back seat pax heads. This gives line of sight out all windows and away from other electronics. I route the wire under the headliner and the raspberry / battery sits on the hat rack. I noticed I already had metars when climbing about 1000' agl. I think it may take a while for it to download radar images though??? I wasn't up very long. I hope he adds traffic function eventually. I'm using fltplan go.
  17. This one has been for sale for a really really long time. It seems good by looking at the controller ad, but there must be some issues. I figure there have been plenty of people look at it and pass for one reason or another. But, then again, maybe F market buyers don't want a turbo???
  18. This is why I prefer not to calculate the cost per hour. It's counter productive.
  19. Run the IO-360 at 2400rpm, 18-20" LOp and you can easily get a smooth 7gph I averaged 7-8gph during training. If you need the time, no reason to go fast. Just 120mph will do fine.
  20. Maybe it was 10 hours needed for solo again, because it was a different plane... In any case, the insurance coverage needed 15
  21. +1. I started flying my F dual right after my solo in flight school 172. You probably want 10-15 hours dual before soloing the mooney and the insurance will require that anyway. 3-4 flights will be needed to get used to how it handles. You'll accomplish all this on your dual cross country requirement. Then you should be ready to solo the mooney. First year insurance for me when I had 11 or so hours was 2100. But, I needed 15hours dual before it would cover me solo. FAA requires 10hours dual for complex sign off anyway and most of this was done during ppl cross country parts. Make sure your cfi is well experienced and had had some time in mooneys. It took a while for my CFI to recognize that you can't let the wheels touch above about 75mph. Even my check ride examiner kept telling to to let it land well before it was ready. I just told him I was PIC and will land it when it is safe. You must become an expert on your plane because your CFI and examiner are probably not intimately familiar with mooneys. It will be rewarding though. You'd be getting off the pony and going straight to a stallion!!
  22. +1 graphite powder in the sliding ball
  23. If the owner is unwilling to fly it, if you're paying and not very far, then that might be your sign.
