  1. Are there really any legal fuel pump shrouds? It is not in the manual, so what do we need an STC version or a TSO? Can I replace it with the LED version? How hot does it get back there behind in the low pressure area?
  2. I vote contact cleaner
  3. Parts manual is no help. Under the Power Plant group, In the baffle section the circled part is called "connector"
  4. no shroud around his pump. no shroud around my fuel pump
  5. There is some technology that allows real time data and other maintenance annotation on photos. I am trying to figure it out. It would be cool to have pictorial maintenance guides.
  6. I think I see the adel clamp down angling to the top corner of the prop governor in the second pic. I don't think this stuff is in the Manuals. The don't have that type of documentation back there. I looked at the power plant section and did not see it. I still can not find the Stall vane adjustment or even the parts in the parts manual.
  7. On mine the Mags have a couple of hard tubes at an angle that cool them
  8. Mine is a SCAT tubing that blows air on the prop governor. I would think the nice chilly fuel flowing though the pump would be enough to cool the pump. Now the prop governor would seem to need cooling since it has hot oil flowing through it. look for an adel clamp of the same diameter in a line with the hole and the prop governor
  9. Yep. I have been off the bike since the 8th of Dec. It seems to be coming together just some pops and other things that seem to be working out. We just agreed on the bike repair. Close to $2000.00 for a new front end on the bike. It's a carbon steer tube, carbon stays that I did not want to ride after the crash. I was doing 15-18mph and it bent the front wheel out of alignment so it was a pretty hard hit. My left outer thigh left a big dent below the window pillar. A good size dent in the hood from where my elbow hit it.
  10. So there I was Dec 8th. It was a great December day for a bike ride. Took the ride with the least roads. Connecting bike paths and only one major road crossing. On my way from the bike path to the neighborhood there is only 450 yards of road. I going south a car is approaching from the north. I see his tire go across the center line I hit the brakes, then I see him turn back across the line. I was thinking whew that was close and then I was rolling off his hood onto the ground. as he accelerated into me. Broken septum. His quote from the accident report I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON SHERWOOD FOREST. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT INTO THE COLLISION CENTER. MY VEHICLE WAS 85 PERCENT INTO THE PARKING LOT. THE BIKER SPED UP AND STRUCK MY VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. Little does the driver know that I was GPS tracking my ride. I sure hope he tells some lies in court. You just can't get far enough away from stupid people to be safe
  11. Somewhere the NBAA has some guides for your question. Maybe had to email them to get them, may have them on a hard drive. I will look around. https://www.nbaa.org/admin/taxes/personal-use/ https://www.nbaa.org/admin/management-guide/ If you want to send me some of the money for doing your CPAs job I can create an invoice for you :-)
  12. Depends. 978 UAT can do plane to plane and does not need ground station. I have had the Stratux working on one of my flights over to Austin. There are no ADSB ground stations in the middle of Texas so you have to be up at 4000 so. I had my shadow catch up with with me on both androids with Stratux as the ADSB in. This is just me sqwacking 1200. And no ADSB out. So the ground station was picking up my transponder and rebroadcasting my position. There is a status web page in Stratux that I just found so that will help with the diagnostics. (towers and what is being received)
  13. Those are fun pics. I see an OSHA violation on that extension cord
  14. Where is the drawing? I like pictures.... I noticed that my trim wheel almost spun freely after the heater was blowing on it for awhile.... probably a need to clean a re grease at some point.
  15. Keep fighting the good fight! My wife is handling the insurance claim for her sister going through breast cancer treatment. Same thing. Bunch of Millennials thinking they should be CEO not paying attention or learning about their current job. Starting with $1000.00 of bills and getting it down to free.
  16. Flaps on the ramp beater c172 79" x 19"
  17. Good to know there are people to help. My ratio is yetti =1 IRS = 0. They were trying to charge a penalty for non reporting. The penalty calculation was a percentage * the amount not reported. The amount for the period was zero. So the case worker could not get his head around that zero times anything is still zero. The good news is that there case workers are rewarded on a standard call center method. So the longer I kept the worker on the phone the worse his bonus was going to be. He actually said " Mr Yetti I have other customers that are waiting" I responded with "Oh no we will be here all night till we sort it out" It was fun to throw their own tax code at them and know that the case worker did not have a clue about it. Also found that none of their systems across regions share data. So you can be right in one system and wrong in another. They seem to know this. Finally he said he needed to talk to his manager. "Mr. Yetti this has been resolved and you will get a letter stating so in 6 months" I just added it to the several inches of paper they had already sent me for what was to be a $100.00 or so fine. The amount of effort they put into the $100.00 penalty far exceeded the $100.00. It just made me promise myself I would never have employees working for me again. Too dang many rules to step in. If you sold the plane from one person to a company or back then the 179 deduction could come into play. :-)
  18. Ohhh king air 90 if we were talking that there would be a SoX policy written and signed off by internal and external audit. As long as the policy was approved and followed, then then should be fine. Maybe a 179 deduction depending on income. Capital Asset classification and depreciation could apply also. But I think the OP wanted to know about a Turbo Mooney. Not an Accountant.
  19. The GSA publishes a reimbursement rate for Airplanes. Seems simple enough. Not an accountant. http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/100715
  20. Above 3000 AGL If not 5000 AGL
  21. You may want to see if the seal on front of the engine has let go. The seal is glued in with industrial contact cement. Finger in around the shaft between the prop. Probably have to have the cowl off. Move the prop slightly see if the rubber seal moves. Moving blades, engine could start, you could get hurt. YMMV.
  22. Sure you are not hearing the gear warning?
  23. It is possible that homer dan would have some steel rod down at the end of the fastener isle. You can cut the rod with a 4.5" grinder, or hacksaw or bench grinder. A little quality time with a die and some stainless nyloc with some stainless washers will get you going.
  24. I replaced the safety wire with a rod. If you look there is no way to get the Safety wire tight enough and it will start to rub on things like the oil return line alum tubes. If it rubs long enough it will cause another oil leak. It will also cut through the alum tabs on the baffles, then you have to repair them. Sloppy lazy work by the shop. It is a pain to get the rods on properly. I would not let them get away with it.
  25. Wonder how much your leather covering of your seats weigh? About 2 gallons of Av Gas
