rbharvey Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Had them in my 2000 Ovation ( I didnt install and never saw a 337 or STC for them) and would love them in the Acclaim (as opposed to the minature crap in there now..come on Mooney..) A visit to Rosen site says they stop fitting mooneys in 1999 and their is no STC for the M20TN. IS the STC really needed for two screws? and if they fit a 2000 M20R why wouldnt they fit a M20TN? Any insight appreciated! Quote
KSMooniac Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 That sure sounds funny! You might look into LASAR's Wiser Visors too...I think they're quite similar and might have the proper STC coverage. I love my Rosens that came in my J, and the previous owner (now has an Ovation) wishes he would have taken them out to install in his Ovation! He says the OEM versions are a joke. Quote
MooneyMitch Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I agree the stock visors on the R are mostly inadequate. However, with either the Rosen or LASAR visors, the overhead switch panel console will be covered by the visors when they in the stored position. This could be one reason for the stock short Mooney visors. Something to consider. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I've got the ones from LASAR and I like them. Quote
LuvFlying Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Timely topic. I looked at a couple of Mooneys with Rosens when I was shopping. I put them high on my "gotta have" list. Rosen visors are about the only thing missing from "Katie". I was going to order them tonight, but was hesitating. Now I know it's the right decision! Quote

rbharvey Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Posted December 22, 2009 They were moveable enough either to be stored folded forward, so occupied top 1/4 of windscreen or swung parallel to the fuselage running just about the side windows. Visibility never an issue and man could they provide some sun blocking! Bob H Quote
rogerl Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I agree that the rosens work well; one issue with at least the older model is the friction at the screw at which they fasten to the airframe has become so low that they will swing around at inoportune times - it has become a safety issue, and it's not apparent how to increase the friction. Any hints on how to deal with it would be greatly appreciated ... Quote
N67HR Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I just added Rosen to my Acclaim and love then! They provide excellNt side coverage also fit nicely pushed forward. Install easily in 15 min with provided screws. I believe I order the set for the Bravo. Email me with Q's. Jeffsmith35209@gmail.com Quote
Steve65E-NC Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I have an good uninstalled set of Rosens from a salvage yard. That includes the brackets that attached to the frame. The brackets just clamp on the frame under the plastic. Never installed because I do not have a copy of the STC. Can anyone help? Quote
