Bob Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks for this great forum! If it was not for Mooneyspace, I would still be searching for knowledge and would not be a Mooney owner at this time! I was early-planning a trip from Chicago to Florida and thought it would be great if a googlemap with pins of all members was available. This would make it very easy to stop for fuel and have lunch with another Mooney pilot. Quote
The-sky-captain Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Great idea. Anybody know how to get it going? Quote
LFOD Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Sure... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=103430918650058616864.00047a5599a2a4d304e07&t=h&safe=strict&ll=36.385913,-96.943359&spn=33.58775,78.837891&z=4 Just search for your airport, hit edit and add your user name to the place marker. Any issues with the map, let me know. Quote
piperpainter Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 It won't let me edit...not sure why not! Quote
LFOD Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Look in the upper right corner of the left column... Hit the edit button after you have added your airport/location to the map. Quote
Cruiser Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I think you need to have a Google account to edit. Just click on sign in (or login) at the upper right corner then register. Quote
Bob Posted December 10, 2009 Author Report Posted December 10, 2009 Thanks Matt for you help! I think this is a good start and it is great that many are participating. The Mooney family is very large and It will be nice to know where all my relatives are! Quote
flight2000 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 It's good to see who our neighbors are. Great idea!! Brian Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Great Idea! Now all we need is a volunteer IT type to incorporate into a tab on MooneySpace. RFB Quote
LFOD Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Looks like the PAC NW needs to hold a Mooney Fly in... Quote
mooneygirl Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Matt, you need to be part of our Mooney Ambassador family and host a NW fly-in. Check us out on Facebook. Our goal is to Support Mooney Airplane Company, promote general aviation and have someplace wonderful to fly. Quote
mooneygirl Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Here is the link to our Ambassador page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=132057967005 Quote

flyby201 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Perhaps the administrator of this site could put a link to this map under the "Resources" tab. Just an idea, I don't think there is anything in that tab at this time... At least it won't open for me. Quote
flyby201 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I like the idea of the member map. I was thinking that a separate map could also be established where members could make pireps on unique places they've visited, with a description of why it was unique in the comments section. I know I'm always looking for someplace and some excuse to fly for a weekend trip. Quote
skyking Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 So far i am the only Canadian on the map. Come on Canadian Mooney owners....i know you are out there... Quote

Bob Posted December 11, 2009 Author Report Posted December 11, 2009 I registered mooneymap.com and linked it to the map that Jeff set up. I hope this helps everyone to remember the link. Thanks for all the participation everyone! As far as people having extra Mooney parts. I am in need of a CDT/TIT gauge. If anyone has one available please let me know. Thanks! Quote
The-sky-captain Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Love the map, thanks for getting it together! Quote
