Exhaust gas in cabin

Finally took delivery of the C model. CO warming went off in Sentry and I could smell exhaust gas during climb. Got better on cruise. Had the cabin air vent open and the outside air vents off by mistake. Concern?

Check for cracks in exhaust,  pressure test it.

Do this for sure.  Can almost guarantee though it’s the door seal.

Haha. CFI forgot to latch the door and I forgot to make sure on this flight.

Also if the cabin is still sealed by duct tape, spend a day removing it because it is old and dried out and will hold water.    Replace with aluminum HVAC tape.  Don't ask why the factory thought duct tape was a good solution.
