Scott Ashton Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Does anyone have an outboard fuel sender they aren't using? I'm chasing an intermittent fuel issue and now they think it's the outboard sender... Thanks Scott
Yetti Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Think or know? Open up the panel, Remove the wire and put an ohm meter on it. I had one out and cleaned it up, it's not that hard. While it's out you can get new seals for it here. https://www.brownaircraft.com/aircraft-seals-s/185.htm

Let me know if you want to try to arrange something.
rgpilot Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 (edited) I have all the senders from Cies conversion and there free, you pay shipping. Just fly over and. pick them up. Edited November 13 by rgpilot
N201MKTurbo Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Most times when the outboard fuel sender is giving you trouble, it is the mounting and grounding of the inboard fuel sender. 1
JimK Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Looks like you have good offers of replacement senders so I’d like to ask A question. Rgpilot, I see you also have an Ovation. Did you replace your senders with Ceis senders just because you wanted them or were you having sender problems. If having problems will you share with us specifically what those problems were? Thanks!

If you want to improve the chances that Rgpilot will see your post, you should use the MooneySpace handle with the "at sign" like this @rgpilot.
Scott Ashton Posted November 25 Author Report Posted November 25 I got my outboard sender overhauled and it solved the problem…unfortunately we send the gage in for repair first, but regardless, it’s now fixed…. Scott

Scott Great news! What were the symptoms you were experiencing? I suspect one of my sensors may be starting to become intermittent.
Thedude Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 Occasionally in flight my right side will drop to zero fuel in the tank and if I rock the wings it'll go back up to whatever it's actually at (eg 20 gallons). I have a 79 J, is that similar to the issue you had?

So it did come off the peg when power was supplied, so it was getting some power. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
