The original RPM gauge stopped working after landing.

Does anyone know the area where this connects to the engine?

Also has anyone used a portable tachmeter inside the plane and if so which one?

Spruce sells one for $300.00

Thanks

I think this tach has a tach generator. I would check the connectors and wiring. The generator will be mounted on the back of the engine.

On the bravo engine tach pickup is mounted to bottom of the right mag if memory serves, maybe broke off or loose, there is a panel mounted certified RPM gauge that has LEDs, have seen that in Bravos as a patch after the Moritz gauge died and also in Eagles that have the 310hp 2700 RPM STC

Thank you

Yes the sensor pickup is on the mag.

This is the replacement with LEDs from EI: https://iflyei.com/product/r-1-rpm-tachometer-instrument/

I have the EI tach removed from my Bravo during the panel replacement in 2023. PM me if you get to the point where you might need it.

Cheers,
Rick

Mine started acting crazy and it was a loose plug.
Also I have this RPM app for my iPhone and it works great.
