My Vividia 'scope is 5 years old, so maybe that's it?  I have noticed it's really easy to get oil/contamination on the lens (which is very hard to tell) and that will screw up the image.

A mechanic at Savvy suggested a Teslong model to me. It seems very good and I've received multiple compliments on pictures, which I do not attribute to the operator.

I can dig up the model number if helpful. I might spring for a removable-stalk one next time so I can replace damaged heads. Teslong did replace mine for free out of warranty, so that's good.

Yes, please!

I've been considering replacing my Vividia with a newer model, so I'd love to consider other options. Especially one recommended by Savvy.

Mike Busch does recommend the Vividia.  But if you go that route make sure you get the one with the highest resolution.  There are probably a few of the low resolution ones still floating around.  The high res ones give a great image.

The TD500, manufacturer link below:

I got mine from B&H Photo though after the help I got from Teslong I might just buy directly next time. Hard to reach but they were very accommodating in replacing it. I offered to pay to fix since it was my fault but they just sent me a whole new unit for free.

They have modular models where you can unscrew the scope. So if you bite it with a valve you could just get a new camera stalk.

Forgot the name of the Savvy mechanic but he kind of implied he was recommending that over the Vividia these days.

David
