Installed a pair of Sunspot Aeroled PAR-36s in our 252 yesterday. Haven't flown her at night with the new bulbs yet but just turning them on inside the closed hangar was eye opening! They're MUCH brighter and cooler running with very low amperage draw compared to the standard-issue GE incandescents that I removed. The incandescent bulb gets really hot...I didn't realize how hot they get until I turned them on (one LED and one incandescent) for a side by side comparison and then, after turning them off again, tried to remove the remaining incandescent bulb...burned my hands it was so hot and I only had them on for about 60 seconds to take a photo!

+1 for the Sunspot LEDs

The first photo below shows one LED and one GE incandescent bulb illuminated...pretty telling IMHO. Now I need to go night flying!

JS,

really funny, the photo is so bright my eyes had to adjust while looking at them through an iPad...:)

it took a moment to see that the two lights are quite different.

Great photos.

if I need a flashlight, I'm going to pop this photo up on the iPad.

Probably don't need the vent holes in the plastic light cover anymore...

Best regards,
