GB Can’t speak to the cost of an MU2, but I can tell you with certainty it is less than any TBM, and considerably. My best friend has owned a TBM for about five years now, last years annual was 470k. This was obviously not typical, it was timed out items. This isn't even possible on an Aerostar. His average annual expense to own the plane was north of 200k for about 175 hours. This was everything except fuel. The Aerostar operation expense may be similar to a Meridian, but a TBM is not comparable, and I’d bet money neither is an MU2. I’m not deluding myself about the costs to own and operate an Aerostar, but I’m into my second year, and I can assure you it will not be in the realm of 200k a year. Quote

GeeBee Posted December 23, 2023 Report Posted December 23, 2023 I used to fly a 601P. Loved the airplane. We were in an out of LAX a lot and it keeps up with the jets no problem and if you handle it right it slows for landing nicely. Used to go SJC to LAS with it, FL250 on J110 direct over the restricted areas. Big time saver. The only negative I can say is in icing conditions it is a popcicle because of the slender airfoil. Use the boots early and often. Quote
