RoundTwo Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 I’ve flipped through the Spruce catalog but didn’t see any of the black panel screws with the black plastic washers. A googling session also turned up nothing. Does anyone have a link to any? Thanks Quote

PT20J Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 The panel screws that Mooney uses are pan head with a molded on plastic trim washer. Mooney uses them in various colors to match instrument panels and trim. They are made by Stake Fasteners. https://www.stakefastener.com/. I believe black is a standard color. When I contacted them a couple of years ago, the minimum order was $210. Skip Quote

Some cad-plated screws I looked at a couple of days ago were outrageously expensive. Quote
PT20J Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 We just used standard pan head screws, painted them gray to match the new panel and put nylon flat washers underneath the heads so as to not mar the panel. Quote

I have seen pictures of new panels where all flat head screws were used. I saw one where all the Phillips head screws were indexed N/E/S/W. The only way I can see to accomplish that is keep trying screws until you find one that is tight and indexed at the same time. I guess you could fudge a couple of degrees tighter or looser to get the indexing right, but not much more than that. Quote

I found some black Pan-L-Screws on eBay. If you want 2,000 gray screws, they can be yours for $80. Quote
