good2eat Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 Hi All: Will be closing on a J in the next couple weeks. I live on the west coast, plane will be in Gaithersburg, MD. Plan is to fly out, get the 10 hours dual insurance requires and fly it home. I’m looking for a CFI who may be interested in completing the required dual and perhaps flying 1/2 way across the country with me finishing the trip on my own. Suggestions? Quote
carusoam Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 Welcome aboard g2e… Did you go to the existing thread that has all the CFIs? See if Byron is around… He and Becca are at KOSH this week…. @jetdriven Byron helped me break-in an IO550 for my O… he is a great transition trainer, and is in the MD area…. See if you can find RPM Aviation… He is a great resource… has both mechanical and flight skills, and owns a beautiful M20J! Best regards, -a- Quote
good2eat Posted July 26, 2022 Author Report Posted July 26, 2022 I wasn’t aware Byron was a transition trainer! Actually am having him do the prebuy as the seller is kind enough to move it there for me! Quote

Pinecone Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 There is also the list on Mooney Flyer. Although I am in MD and emailed the MD listed instructor and never got a response. Quote
hypertech Posted August 1, 2022 Report Posted August 1, 2022 Try Will Wobbe. If you promise him enough snacks - he might even help you transport it. Quote
