What’s a better air filter for my 1964 M 20 C

Bracket is very common, although the replacement filter is twice that for my buddy's 172, Donaldson(?) is another not sure on prices but Spruce should have them both. What does it have now?

I am not sure which Bracket filter you have but the one I have uses the 6108 filter which is the same as the one used in the 172.  it is about 12.80 from spruce.  I change it at 100 hours or annual.

The Cessna 172-G uses a BA-6108 at 12.50, Mooney M20E use a BA-6305 at 24.50. I keep a spare for both but order them at annual and rotate the spare into service….generally one of the local A&P / IA’s uses my spares and just replaces them so my stock stays fairly new….
