Makes for a little less "clean" installation, in my opinion, but it preserves at least some of the rear avionics access of the original vintage Mooney windshield installation. Jim
flight2000 Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 +2 for Jim. When I did my mod with the Lasar kit, I completely lost the access panels to the avionics in front of the windshield. The SWTA version is a cross between the one piece and the OEM version. The Lasar kit is a straight OEM version, but think Ray got the last one they made. DaV8or Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 +3 for Jim. It's a SWTA 201 windshield. Meaning in fact that it is the same 201 windshield in shape aerodynamicaly, but the mounting retains a bit of the original Mooney avionics access. They did something similar when they did their 201 style cowling. They merged the Lo Presti 201 designed cowl with the original cowl to preserve the original cheek panels for quick access. It's because Russell at SWTA spent a lot of time working on Mooneys before he started modding Mooneys and so his mods have a bit of the mechanic-that-has-to-work-on-it in them. Kind of cool in my book.
