Don Maxwell has tried hard but can't get rid of the last leak in my tank on the 1999 Eagle.  It's a weird leak that only comes when you fly in heavy weather and get a lot of suction on the top of the wing.  Under 175 knots it won't leak but over 175 knots it sucks fuel out of some rivets along the main spar.  I think that it is time for a reseal and I spoke with Jason at Midwest Mooney and his polyurethane deal sounds pretty attractive.  I am about ready to pull the trigger later this year but wanted to know if any of you have tried the polyurethane deal or should I just do a polysulfide reseal.   Midwest Mooney has a pretty good reputation but the polyurethane is only done by them (I think).  I look forward to your comments.

I spoke with them on the phone for quite some time when considering my reseal.  Their process is STC'd and sounds quite impressive.  I know that Midwest M20 is a very reputable shop and even know of a local Mooney owner who did their "screaming eagle" conversion.  He raved about thier professionalism and quality of their work.  My personal concern was the fact that they quote a 15-20 year repair, but only back it with a 5 year warranty.  For me the cost difference (about $3000 more than my strip/reseal at Wet Wingologists), as well as the incramental cost of flying to IL versus one hour away in FL, then the cost of having to return for repairs if necessary during the first 5 years, all leaned towards a regular strip/reseal.  With the savings I was able to add wing mounted fuel gauges, new sending units, new sump drains, and still save $1800 while getting a 7 year warranty.

Aaron, thanks for your comments.  I have a Screaming Eagle so I have already imbibed with some of the Midwest Mooney Koolaid.  I am still in the discovery stage on where to go, I just know that a reseal is in my future.
