bbakerco Posted January 13, 2021 Report Posted January 13, 2021 All, In reading through the POH emergency procedures for an Electrical Fire - In Flight, the POH says turn Master OFF. Then it goes on to say that stall warning horn and gear warning horn not available with master OFF. I also know that you won't have a GEAR DOWN, or any other annunciator. However, it does not say that the electric gear down will not work. My assumption is that it will NOT work since it's electrically powered which is probably the safest assumption. However, I would like to know for sure for my own knowledge. I guess if I had a raging electrical fire, I'm putting it on the ground no matter what / where / how. Thanks Quote
Jeff_S Posted January 13, 2021 Report Posted January 13, 2021 The electric gear won't work without electrical power, of course. However, you have manual gear extension which will work just fine, and you have the physical gear indicator on the floor which will show you whether or not it's down. 4 Quote

That's what I did with Master OFF after total electrical failure. Being familiar with both pages of my Emergency section, I was less bothered than my CFII beside me . . . . 3 Quote
